Overview:
With the industrial revolution in the innersphere over the last
two decades, and unforcean event has occured. the main work horses of
the innersphere are no longer the medium weight class. there lack of
wide scale verstaltility means most medium designs become obsolete
just as production has hit peek. this hurts the industries that
produce specilized designs, or only produce lighter end vehicles.
do to these reasons, CMI is upgrading its lines. one line is to
produce there new staple production mech. this unit is the brand new,
Dervish II. the dervish II is an upgrade of the original dervish
mech. mounting almost twice the firerpower.
Capabilities:
Filling the all pourpose roll, that its sister design performed.
the Dervish II, is fast, armored, jump capable, and armed for all
ranges. this allows the mech, rair versatility in the field. [HARD
RETURN]the first line of attack, is the dual lrm 15 racks, each
supplied with 12 salvo's. while original planned to mount artimies IV
FCS, this addition was dropped when the stress loads would have
prevented a large portion of the secondary weaponry. this was deemed
unacceptible and the artemis sysatem was removed.
the next line of offense/defense are four medium lasers. this
offers supprisingly dangerous firepower for minumum weight. next in
line, backing up the lasers are twin srm 4 racks, giving powerfull
anti-infantry, anti-armor, abilities. each supplied with a ton of
ammo each.
this has proven to make a deadly and potently ground bracking
inhancment on to days battlefield.

This is what we should be seeing more Mark 2s of the tried and true then a host of new machines.

A 70 ton Dervish? Ok as a design, I guess.
Lots of weapons, excellent manueverability.
Volley firing of the weapons recommended.
And the C3 is certainly nice if you can get
a Master unit too. _________________ A tree fall in the forest, and no one is around, and it hits a mime. Does anyone care?

What so bad about a 70ton version? It's no worse then the Madaurder II or the Mad Cat Mk2...15 tons got added to the Dervish, all to really do nothing more then upgrade the weapons.
MCMK2 goes from 75 tons to 90 tons, that is also only a 15 ton increase. And the MAD II goes from 75 to 100 tons that one get 25 more tons to play with, yet both seem to work well and so why can't the idea be applied to the Dervish?

I like the concept and the design is sweat. The only thing I have against it, and it is not just this machine, is ammo in the same torso as XL engine.

There are several fine 70-tonners to compete
with, like Archers, the Caesar and Guillotine, even the Warhammer might be seen as competition. The Dervish II has more speed than any of these, and a C3 module, but who uses that outside Draconis space?
It`s a nasty surprise mech, but I wouldn`t use it except for specialist duty. Otherwise I think it`s nice.
