Named after old Japanese spear, Jari is a
Weapon for the masses of Kuritan armor
regiments. The vehicle is quite unassuming
and, as it's first crew mentioned, downright
ugly. With it's boxy features and cramped
internal spaces there can be no doubt that
crew's comfort was on lower end of designer's
list of priorities.
Jari was designed to fulfill various roles for
common armor units around Draconis
Combine. Using components that are barely
above succession wars technology level, tank
is easy to repair and maintain even for units
that are known to have supply problems and
ease cannibalization, that is still common
practice in these units. With Kuritan tendency
to use uniformity to strengthen unity among
it's soldiers it's possible that entire units will
be formed around this tank.
Using myriads of weapon pods, Jari would
give Kuritan units unparalleled flexibility and
ease the stress on supply lines, because only
one set of spare arts would be required for
whole units. Technically with 16.5 tons of pod
space Jari can be outfitted with anything up
to the size of gauss rifle, but the decision to
use internal combustion engine prevents the
tank from using energy weapons effectively.
Modular chassis was tested under all manner
of combat situations in various roles, from fire
support and regular skirmishes, though anti-air
protection to extreme roles as light artillery
and command vehicle. First prototypes were
even tested as MASH and construction
vehicles, but after few accidents this role was
rather left to more specialized units.
Jari still waits for approval of high command,
because more conservative generals of the
Combine block the innovation efforts.

Very flexible design with a very low price tag for an omni vehicle!
Some will have problems to give these omni technology to a ICE driven tank with "lowtech"-weapons but this is the only omni that can be repaired and maintained almost everywhere!
Good work!

Actually I think that I.C.E. engine won't be a problem because it's intended for local militia units that will probably spare high tech weapons for their mechs.
Main reason for having omni technology (aside from flexibility) is that you can take three destroyed vehicles and in some two hours you may have two fully operational tanks simply by cannibalizing third thanks to omni technology (if you have right equipment at hand of course).

I think some here wouldn´t "waste" omni-technology to a ICE driven militia unit even if it has advantages!
Thats not my opinion: before omni-technology was introduced in the TRO 3050
I constructed an ICE driven militia hover with interchangeble turrets!
This vehicle (called Legolas) has a big "hole" in its fuselage where an entire turret with turret-structure, turret armor, weapons and a section below the turret for ammo, HS or other equipment!
The hoverfuselage has only a single MG in its front.

Actually, If you look at the description of Omni-vehicles, it clearly states that Omni-vehicles ARE NOT the same as Omni-Mechs. Omni-vehicles use an open design concept and not a technological item unlike omni-mechs. They used the same name for familiarity and convinence, but they are not the same thing. So using omni-vehicles for any level of deployment is not that unreasonable.

Warhammer made some tank with interchangeable turret before (and I'm too lazy to find it )

Maybe Warhammer reads this and can find it faster than we can!
So I try to find my stats buried deep in my shelf (I constructed the Legolas back in 1989 so I hope I´m able to find some remnants!).
As soon as my own "new" (used!) computer is working I´ll put it into HMPro and post it!

But still the added 20% cost is true so somebody maybe will not "waste" this to militias! (Not me!)

That was a quick answer!
I´ve made it the other way round: constructing different Turrets for a Hover chassis!
It has a 19t Turret assembly (if I remember right!) with weapons, ammo, turret structure and turret armor.
"Prime" variant has a AC/5 with 40 shots, a LRM-5 with 24 shots, two SRM-2 with 50 shots, 1,5t of turret structure and 1,5t of turret armor (24 points).
The chassis itself has a MG in his front with 100 (?) shots .

That may be true, but the amount you save buying parts for various different vehicles should be worth it.. It will also save headaches on the quartermaster's/store etc side of things.

With all paperwork needed to acquire something for less favored units of the Combine the saved costs may be actually much greater than initial cost increase that comes from omni technology.
One set of spare parts means that smaller stockpiles are needed and even on field you may try to cannibalize destroyed vehicle (if they can get their hands on them) or trade needed parts from the neighbors.
With omni tech the problems with weapons are also much smaller. Each unit may use weapons that are at hand. On most configurations I used only the most basic weapons, because they are widely available, but units with access to better guns will simply install them, so prime configuration in better units may have only two MGs and SRM 4, but it may have C3 link and UAC. On planets with AC ammunition factory th vehicles will probably have more ACs etc.
Not mentioning that space on ships is always prized commodity, so the cost may actually be lesser over time. (50t weight was chosen because it takes only 50t bay on ship, for anything larger you need 100t bay )
