Ok guys here is the situation. The kings of the battlefield are going to clash, and I want to see which mech would win and why. The terrain would be a city. The Atlas is the AS7-d model, and the King Crab would be the KGC-0000 version. Who do you think would win?

I'm going to have to go with the Atlas here. It possesses better heat management, more armour and greater damage at close range once it's spent it's AC ammo. In addition to that, the Atlas possesses a rear-firing weapon which means no free rear shots.
On the down side, it has one AC to the KC's 2, which means that it potentially takes more damage each round.
Despite the downsides, I still have to say the Atlas would prevail. The better heat management works strongly in its favour, especially since the King Crab can only safely bring it's full close range arsenal every other round, while the Atlas can fire everything except it's LRM every every round, and in a city that LRM is going to see limited use anyways.

Staying on your feet is key here. The kind of damage these two put out is really terrifying, and a fall after a few AC hits may be disastrous.
The first one knocked down with leg or gyro damage is in some real trouble, as the other will be able to close in for a kick.
I don't care about the heat management as much as weapons placement here. The KC has an edge in the twin ACs, but they are somewhat crippled by their placement. Most of the crits are in the arms, parts that have a habit of getting ripped off when assault mechs clash. Some crits are in the torsos, meaning the guns are restricted to the front arc. Bad, bad.
The Atlas gets my vote for sheer durability and mean looks, but it is close.

Atlas, for all the reasons stated above and they look cool.

No contest really, Atlas. I like the King Crab, but the Atlas takes it here. First off the main guuns..AC/20's!! Yes the King Crab has 2, but he also only has 2 tons of ammo. Atlas has 1 but how much ammo? More than 5 shots. LRM is going be relatively useless uunless there are long avenues for ranged attacks. But other than that, when the AC ammo runs out it's a large laser versus SRM-6, and 2-4 medium lasers. That's not counting the LRM-15 versus the LRM-20. Thicker hide plus more versatile weapons equals good chance at victory.
Atlas hands down.

Wow in a city, I'd take the Crab hands down..
If you watch what you are doing, the ranges will be close and barely any modifiers, which means most fire will hit, so those double AC20s are gonna rip that Atlas a new one.

I voted for Atlas, everything speaking for it has been already mentioned before (unable to come with something original)

Atlas packs a better payload in my eyes and is cooler. The King Crab looks somewhat stupid. I'd rather have an Annilator than a KC.

In any, that includes swamp, mountains, any terrain, except City, I would have chosen the Atlas.
In the city, 3 potential 20's, and the Atlas has 2. It does have a pair of 5s and 6 at 2, but the KC has him. If the Atlas gets behind, one AC/20. If KC gets behind, 2 MLs.
But other terrain the LRM 20 becomes a big softening up factor.
The KC mini and picture looks like crap but in this one situation, I would take it.
AWAD- Give me a Victor in this situation, light armor and all

I`m goin to go with the KC cause of the sheer damage it will inflict before the ammo is gone as the ranges will be zero if the atlas can get in a few punches though it could swing the tide the crits wont bother the crab so much because of its low ammo

Alot of this bought will be luck. Which one will get the lucky head shot? Or the ammo shot? The Atlas is at a disadvantage there, with a much larger selection and quantity of ammo.
Plus, remember fluke events. Will the King Crab slide throigh the nearest appartment building? Will the Atlas king-kong up city hall?

The Atlas will thump the KC in every arena except for the cities. If its a city battle, the KC will win. Who cares about excessive heat if you have the chance to rip the Atlas in just 2 salvos ?
