I figured I should jump on the bandwagon.
The Ox has no docking capabilities, but can transfer supplies via the cargo transfer gear (maybe it's a giant cargo arm, maybe a large docking arrangement, I haven't decided).
It has no dropship collars as those are too expensive for a mass-produced ship (1 bil. per is ABSURD).

I agree the current (canon) price of the docking collars are crazy and one of the biggest draw backs to building any ship in the BT universe.
Nice ship by the way.

The cost is due to the equipment needed in each collar that allows the jumpship to intergrate the dropships into the jumpship's jump mass. Without an active intergration system, a jumpship cannot safely jump because the dropship would be destroyed and likely take the jumpship with it. The collars are a combination hardpoint and intergration system for the K-F Drive and are therefor really expensive.

Integration? Wouldn't that mean the dropships should be specially constructed for it too?

From how I recall the book describing it, a boom type crane device or what not attaches to the dropship kinda connecting its systems into those of the jumpship and K-F Drive. The dropships have there own equipment, but it is for the most part the female end of the connection and is the less taxed system. Kinda like the catapult hooks on Fighters. It is a small less complexe part of the whole with the jumpship half being the steam catapults on the carrier that require great mass and are costly. Mind you, it has been sometime since i read this info and it may have changed. I just know for certain that a damaged but not destroyed docking port can still be used to transfer cargo and personel but can no longer be used in jump opperations.

I'm wondering...
Just fired up my HmAero to look at the docking collars, and the program only charges me 100K C-bills (and 1000 tons) for one. That's not a bad price.
So where did the billion come from?

Not sure about how you got the 1000K Cbills. Where you using military or civilian setting?

Newest version of the program, both civilian and military jumpships. The "Docking Hard Points" on the Bays&Doors leaf is the same as a Docking Collar, right?
100,000 C-bills apiece, weight 1,000 tons.
Same for Warships.

The problem is, that the cost of the KF-Drive rises with every docking collar! And thats pretty much!

As was said you need to look at the engine (KF) cost with the collars since they tend to go hand in glove.

Ah. That makes it at least 80 million more per docking collar. It's still a bit short of a billion, though.

Quote from HMAero: A JumpShip or WarShip usually has a number of docking hardpoints on the vessel, to accomodate DropShips for normal docking and FTL (faster than light) travel. The number of docking hardpoints is limited by the size of the vessel, and increase the cost of the K-F drive components tremendously. So add what you need, leave off what you don't.
It is along what i've been saying.
