It's like having a pair of Streak LB20-Xs.
BattleTech Vehicle Technical Readout
VALIDATED
Type/Model: Hellfury Hovertank
Tech: Inner Sphere / 3067
Config: Hovercraft
Rules: Level 2, Custom design
Mass: 50 tons
Power Plant: 115 GM I.C.E.
Cruise Speed: 75.6 km/h
Maximum Speed: 118.8 km/h
Armor Type: Johnston Duraweave 6000 Ferro-Fibrous
Armament:
10 Federated SuperStreak Streak SRM 2s
Manufacturer: Johnston Industries
Location: Addicks, New Syrtis
Communications System: ChatterComm 224
Targeting & Tracking System: Federated Stalker
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
Based vaguely on the concept of the Harrasser, the Hellfury Hovertank was
designed by Johnston Industries in 3064. but the needs of the Civill War kept
production from starting until late 3066.
The Hellfury's primary advantages are high firepower and heavy armor, combined
with a surprisingly low cost. Although the GM internal combustion engine
reduces the vehicle's speed somewhat, the reduction in cost was deemed a
worthy tradeoff.
==Capabilities:==
The Hellfury's armament consists of ten Federated SuperStreak Streak SRM 2
missile launchers. The SuperStreak launchers were used instead of a smaller
number of larger launchers because of their inexpense, easy availability, and
proven reliability; indeed, the SuperStreak launchers cut the vehicle's price
by more than half-a-million c-bills. And while the Streak SRM 2 is
individually an unimpressive weapon, ten of them pose a significant threat to
any opponent, including BattleMechs. The Streak launchers also insure that
none of the Hellfury's three tons of ammunition is wasted.
With short ranged weapons and a high speed of nearly 120 kph, the Hellfury
functions as a harrasser, moving in and hitting its target with a barrage that
few vehicles can match. The Hellfury is especially effective against targets
which have already sustained some armor damage, where its large number of
missiles can more easily find and exploit armor breaches.
The Hellfury's only real flaw is its lack of a long ranged weapon. Against a
ranged opponent, the Hellfury depends on its speed and armor to get into
range. The Hellfury carries eight tons of Duraweave ferro fibrous composite,
giving it a level of armor that few hovertanks can match. The ferro fibrous
armor is the only expensive component of the Hellfury, but the added
protection was judged to be worth the slightly increased cost.
==Deployment==
ALthough designed in 3064, the needs of the Civil War kept production of the
Hellfury from starting until late 3066. The Hellfury is already being deployed
to RCTs and independent armor regiments across the Federated Suns.
In addition to the AFFS, Johnston Industries has received orders from the
LAAF, and the Outland Alliance, as well as planetary nobles in both the
Federated Suns and Lyran Alliance. There have also been orders from several
mercenary units and a small number of Chaos March powers.

Eaugh. Nasty floating criticals...
Just make sure they all hit...
Its things like this that make the through-armor crits seem like a bad rule...

Not bad, but deadly rule.
Its quite cheap and armor will last.

Well yea. I suppose. But its still a nasty vehicle. However, I suppose that a good portion of the streaks have to lock to get a good result.

I've been thinking on this one. What do you guys say about dropping a half ton of armor for CASE?

Depends on which set of vehicle rules you are using. The standard rules don't favor vehicle, go figure when the walking tank is the king, and thus two or three turns is the max most vehicles last with the current to hit chart for them. So having case maynot be the best thing going. But then again it would leave the vehicle hull in tact and thus salavagable so it could pay off.

Wrong engine tonnage? 2 * 4t = 8t

Note the need for shielding and it's a hovercraft as well...

No additional shielding needed for I. C. E. engine. I know that it must have at least 10t engine, but I don't know any rules allowing this kind of solution. I think it must have stronger engine.

Why? It has a 10 ton engine.

115 engine = 4t * 2 (I. C. E. engines weight twice as much as standard fusion engines)

115 engine weights just 8 tons.

Adding weight to the engine, I think that this can be considered lvl 3. It seems like having 265 engine on 50t mech.
