When I go browsing through somebody's links page and get page not found, at least half the time that was a geocities page that went poof.

I have four Geocities sites. And plan on another one here soon.
But I have always said they suck. Customer support is non-existance, The NO link issues is moronic,The Ads are not only a pain. But it takes up a fair chuck of the page( Granted, it does go away after about 30 seconds. But the dumb link is still there).
So why do I stick with them? Because of all there faults. They are free. And user friendy. Alot of memeory per-page. And you can link to other geocities sites.
I treat the whole relation like in-laws. You have to take the good with the bad.

The nuked my site because it "wasn't getting enough hits".
But if I get too many hits they will make it unavailable for periods of time...they gotta make up their mind there

That is just stupid. The Brianfreeze has only had 10 hits in the last 6 months. And it is still up. The same goes for my A-Kon security site.
But my Homepage gets about 235 hits a day. Famly and friends talking to each other. No complaits from Goecities in the three years since has been up.
