A good ambusher. If you can hide them in broken terrain and spring them at point-blank, you'll be able to do a fair amount of damage before you get batted out of the sky.

I created this for a campaign I was thinking about running my next party through (assuming I get one).
On a planet in the Chaos March held by multiple factions, one of them finds a weapons / ammunition factory that was hidden when the terrain was forcibly "terra-formed" during the Succession Wars; after a few months bringing the factory back on-line, they expanded it to produce these units in secret.

Fast-forward a few months, during which a corrupt officer from another faction got busted for supporting a group of bandits that was hitting civilian relief supply convoys.
In disgust over the incident, the faction making these units decides to give the second faction its "just desserts." They take a six-vehicle unit (note that in addition to the Beagle variant they also have one mounting an ECM) and have it jump an air cargo convoy consisting of a laden Karnov and its four Ferret escorts. The convoy goes down so fast that they didn't even have time to send out an SOS. The only evidence the second faction has as to what did it is that the attackers had SRMs and machine guns.
While scouting the area, a patrol from the second faction finds an infantry unit from a third faction that has SRMs and carriers with machine guns. In a rage, the patrol opens fire without even offering a challenge. This incident escalates to where within 48 hours factions two and three are at war. Since the first faction doesn't like the other two to begin with, they use their commando assets in conjunction with their VTOL assets (including the Locusts) to prod both sides on into mutual annhialation.
