------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
The YAM-T8 is a light mech who's sole mission is to cause chaos and confusion
in the enemy's rear areas.
It meets the requirements of the latest SLDF call for a light mech that can
meet or exceed the abilites of the Commando and Mongoose.
==Capabilities:==
Well armed with two ranged weapons, the Yammot has the ability to hit from
afar and not need to close, thus it is able to preform it's mission and not
fight a battle it can not win.
The LRM gives it the ability to hit indirectly and also gives it the option of
warheads that can cause more havoc then standard HE, like Thunder etc...
The ER Large Laser gives it added fire power and staying power.
The two small lasers are mostly there for anti-infantry use, but do come in
handy for cause damage to buildings and other targets as needed.
==Battle History:==
Just out of the testing stage, and just being to enter the ranks of the SLDF,
it hoped that the Yammot will soon see action as the Civil War in the Fed-Com
spins toward heavying fighting.
==Variants:==
The only variant, and every fifth mech, has one of the small lasers drop and
CASE added in to protect the LRM Ammo. This version the YAM-T9.
==Deployment==
So far the Yammot has been delivered to the SLDF as is seeing wide spread use
in all units.
Also a company's worth were bought by Wolf's Dragoons, reasons for this are
not know at this time.

I like it. Excellent mobility combined with a decent weapons and armor load makes this an effective unit for it's stated mission. I think another mission this unit would excel in is scout hunter. It's speed and long ranged firepower lend credence to this idea.

Yup a scout hunter comes to mind. Plus you can perform light long range duties as well.

I dunno. I think the LRM-5 is out of place on a rear-striker. Another ton of ammo would help, but an ammo-based weapon limits the effectiveness of a 'mech designed to move behind enemy lines for who-knows-how-long.

Remember that an LRM-5 hitting a Commando will hurt him like crazy so don't diss its effectiveness.
Like wise the machine can perform indirect fire as well.

I wasn't saying that the weapon itself wouldn't be effective.
I said that it would limit the 'mechs ability to function independently of supply lines.

| Well 24 salvos does give fair endurance a usefull upgrade would be to swap out the standard small lasers for ERs you have the heat sinks to cover them.

Also if a Light can last 24 rounds of combat, that is pretty good too
