Just a wee bit of inspiration, if someone has thought of this mod then I'll remove my submission.
75 tons (DUH!)
Light Fusion Engine (compromise, but still safer than XL)
4/6/0
Endo Steel IS
14 tons standard armour
16 Double HS
2 ER PPCs
2 Med Lasers
1 R A/C5 (4 tons ammo w/ CASE)
Tried to kept BV as low as I can, I did come up with a 75 tonner that is jump capable, standard fusion but sans ER PPCs. It has large lasers instead making it weak at long range, but that's closer to the 3025 MAD-3M. At least this has much more armour and decent surviability (no XL!!!) And I tried to keep as close to the MAD-5S as possible.
Drop me your 2 cents. _________________ Nuke them \'till they glow and shoot their asses in the dark

i feel its odd though, a mech with a lyran light engine with a RAC-5
unless u are Blackwell Corporation THAT can produce light engines as well.
but firepower wise this mech has got the oomph.

I like it. Marauders look good with RACs. And this one has some mean firepower. Good armor, good heat, nothing to complain about at all. And the light engine is a good line between XL and standard. (Which is the whole point of it, of course.)
I've already designed a Davion 'Mech with a light engine, sort of an extension of the fluff from Vagabond's Ivan design. So it's not quite as odd to me as tech mixing usually is.

I don't want you to remove your 'Mech, but the RAC/5 Marauder has been done before. Both the 7R and 7D Marauders (canon) have a RAC/5. Although both of them have XL engines.

Ok ok... as they say back home, backside itchy again, so a modified MAD 3-M with the following specs:
75 tons
4/6/4
Standard fusion engine
Endo Steel IS
13 tons FF Armour
12 Double HS
2 large lasers (or the ER variant since the 12 double HS allows for it but I'll stick with the standard large as they are cheaper)
2 med lasers
1 R A/C 5
3 tons ammo (CASE)
Guardian ECM
A decent compromise, but the fact that it jumps... hell I'll take this modded MAD over any IS 75 tonner if customs are allowed.

Mate as I said it's based on the MAD-3M which swapped its PPCs for large lasers from the 3025 TRO. Just a bit of tweaks on a venerable 3025 chassis and sans the XL engines of latter day MADs. _________________ Nuke them \'till they glow and shoot their asses in the dark

Ok here's the fluff (at least for the one with the LL since delta was so kind):
After the Word of Blake found a solace in the Free Worlds League, the immediate concern amongst the renegades from our Blessed Order was procurement of Battlemechs to bolster it's depleted 'Mech regiments. A Blakist staff committee approached Irian Battlemechs Unlimited this task.
Irian took a more conventional approach. The Blakists wanted Mechs fast, and cost had to be minimised. Instead of building a new Mech from scratch, Irian decided to convert a cache of MAD-3M Marauders with Star League techonology. The result was the MAD-7M Marauder, and unlike some designs, this was not a semblence of a Bill that the Senate couldn't compromise on and yet could not afford to discard either.
Endo steel exoskeleton and ferro fibrous armour lightened was used in the modification. 13 tons of FF armour ensured maximum protection. Jump jets gave the design an agility rarely seen before in the 75 ton version of the Marauder. The standard fusion was kept as to reduce costs. 12 double freezers kept the Mech cool at all times while a Guardian ECM protected its signature.
The weapons were kept as simple as possible. The designers stuck with the weapons as far as possible. The twin packages of a large and medium laser was preserved. The class 5 autocannon was upgraded to a rotary class 5. 3 tons of ammo ensured that the autocannon had ample supplies of ammunition while CASE storage protect the chassis in the event of an ammo explosion.
The first of the new MAD-7M Marauder has completed its shakedown trials with the Knights of the Inner Sphere. A strong evaluation coupled with tactical flexibity will see this mod making its way not just into the Blakists' arsenals but also much of the League's regular forces. _________________ Nuke them \'till they glow and shoot their asses in the dark

RACs are a Davion only piece of equipment. No one else has been listed as using them or having developed them. I give it ten years before it is reversed engineered by someone.

Five years
Hey Coyot3 old pal, everything's else is fine except in the fluff where you mentioned the endosteel structure... i find it a little unlikely that you can casually replace the endosteel structure on a Mech.. it can be done i'm sure, but not without a lot of work..

im doubtful u can do that. Its just better to rebuild the entire mech ground up, of course u need blueprints for that.

Manteufel prime has one. Lyran forces may have some stocks of RACs and some may be found in all states (DC has good trading relations with FC, FWL and CC might salvaged one during the war, or in chaos march. Don't forget about black market and WoB spies, they are also quite willing to steal and reproduce technologies and they don't bother with blueprints that much)

Manteuffel is a FedCom design, not a Lyran one. Quite clearly, the RAC variant is Davion, while the HGR variant is Steiner. Now, a few Lyran units may possess RACs, but they can only be mounted on Omnis like the Mantauffel, or the Hauptmann. (Or an a modified 'Mech, but that's unlikely.) There's also the matter of pride, especially for the Lyrans, who very much want to avoid seeming as if they need the Davions or anything the Davions produce.
The Combine and FedSuns have terrible trading relations - the 3050s ended a long time ago. And the FedSuns damn well won't sell the enemy of they're best tech, just as the Dracs aren't selling the Davions any Tatsus.
And there's been no major combat between the FedSuns and Capellans, and none at all with the League.
The Wobblies can go to hell and stay there.

Are there any other possible ways to spread the technology? I think that everything is available, for right price. Vagabond said, that RAC will be reproduced in ten years. I think, that they may be fielded in two, maybe three years by any major power in IS.

I never said it wasn't better to jsut build a new chasis, just that it is possible but not easy to replace an existing one..
Personally i prefer building a new frame based on EndoSteel

RACs took the davions many many years to reasearch. It will take a while to reverse engineer.
As it stands now, the only chance at hell you going to get Davion RACs (forget about tarcomps) is a deal with Mydron, a VERY pro-Victor Davion company.
So for merc units that wish to obtain such nifty toys, you will have to be strongly pro -Davion too.
