Excuse me, but if the rumor from WK is true and we end up with an Atlas with horns...then what makes MWDA anything but a MK knock off???
This link below let's you see what they are doing to the Mad Cat...and with the Horned Atlas....

Ummm, MWDA is a MageKnight knock-off. I've never seen it presented in any manner other than that.
And with all due respect pinkfloyd214, if you've been gaming that long why do you post like an uneducated 10 year old? Calling people "high" because their posting about a game system you don't like is not exceptable behavior here at Mordel's.

It's suppose to be a Mad Cat...I am really scared as to what the other mechs are going to end up looking like...
I don't mind some changes as far as building material and such goes, you know things getting less bulkier etc...but sometimes the idea can be taken to far...plus this mech or what ever it is going to be called is a lot taller then the NORMAL mechs...

Well, What do you expect from a company that said "Does it matter what the mechs look like?"
Altought the above report is not confirmed. Tell me that some corperate suit some where that has never played the game. Didn't ask that question.

Umm I actually have no respect Mr Pinkfloyd, and wonder how someone who posts like a 12 year old could possibly have 20 years experience in gaming. Barbie dolls don't count.
Each game system is different. Each game system when looked at can create some interesting tactics, those which endure are those systems which have no one way to win, yet provide a wide range of viable tactics.
Yes, MK is simplistic, and I believe a little too simplistic for long range viability, but if you play someone that know what they are doing with that system, you can have some very interesting battles.
Heck, the initial draw of Battletech was the simplicity of its ruleset and the ability to create a scenario quickly.

Has anyone played Boot Hill??? I know, the game was out before some of these guys were born, but think about it. It was a set of rules and it was easy to play. WHere is it now????
Don't worry the Click-a-Mech will disappear in time....

I believe my 1st ed AD&D DMG has conversion rules for Boot Hill, never played it but it certainly was around in the 80s. Maybe HackMaster will be putting out a "CattlePunk" add-on in the near future?

Yeah, I played Boot Hill, and yes, AD&D had conversion rules in one of the Manuals for it. I even converted a bunch of characters and dropped them into a D&D setting as my NPCs. Watching 4 players try to roleplay figuring out what a revolver was and how it worked was classic, especially when one of them shot himself in the foot. The whole table was rolling, including the guy with the revolver. I even let them keep the revolver as the firefight took 4 bullets, and the shooting of the foot took one, it was empty, but looked shiny as the Druid said.

This will kill BattleTech. |

BattleTech is allready dead in Vienna !
Although there are still a few active players, Hans.Haderer@reflex.at was disappointed that only 4 playes showed up to play in the 2nd round of his "Wiener-BT-Liga".
Even the Battle at Monte Diablo http://www.classicbattletech.com/MonteDiablo.html had less than 10 participants/visitors !
But i hope that MechWarrior: Dark Age will revive some zombies from our BT scene.
MfG, MEX
P.S.: We won The Battle at Monte Diablo, loosing only the Enfield, Exterminator, Osiris, Tessen and capturing the unconscious commander after destroying all his mechs and disabling his Fafnir with 2 gyro hits !

The game is already collectiable IF you want to buy the miniatures, other wise you can use just about anything for them...that is what is so great about this game, you DON'T NEED the offical playing pices to play the game...clicky tech though you do and that to me is not Battletech... |
|
Until now i havnt played in a official BT tournament ( except Monte Diablo ) as they usually demand that you play with the painted offical miniatures

In our area nearly all BT players have switched to MK, or even worse: Warhammer , YEARS ago !
I see MW: DA as a chance to win back some of them for Classic BattleTech ( or at least ClickyTech )
