1. What would happen if two characters with the Combat Sense trait faced off in battle?
2. What if a person has both the Common Sense and Sixth Sense traits?

Interesting question. Combat Sense is the ability to reroll a roll during a campaign session right? If it is then I believe both are in effect. One person can make the reroll and if the other one doesn't want that then they can also make them reroll. Regardless, the reroll will still be in effect. At least that is how my friends and I play. Can someone enlighten me about 6th sende? I forgot what it does. *Thinking got it mixed up with combat sense*

I believe 6th Sense is an ability at the GMs discretion. He can tell the player that the character has an inkling to "look up" or "something's coming". I think the player can have several levels in the ability, and each level gives more accurate info. "Look up" might become "look up and to the west", or "something's coming" might turn into "our friends are coming. Watch for them", for example. I'm not sure though (can't find my 2E manual).

About right on that one. It's a GM usable trait. I like to assign it to new players to kinda give them a hand learning the game.

1: Both roll their initiatives with the bonus. Why make things difficult?
2: What's the problem there? Sixth Sense warns against a coming danger, usually something a bit farther off than the mech you're already fighting.

I'm asking because I don't want the NPC I was looking at giving that to seeming like he was too Munchy.

It might turn to munch the moment he's also Elite and rides a Clan mech without any reason. Especially if he's named Kell or is a member of the Dragoons who can stomp all the PCs in one go unless they obey him.
But some advantages any character can buy? That's not munchy, is it? Leave out the Common Sense if you want, it's mostly meant for PCs anyway. The GM is supposed to give warning if a new player is doing something obviously stupid through inexperience. NPCs can be as stupid or bright as the GM wants without any advantages.

True there Nightmare. Also it's handy to have an NPC or two that the PC's cannot beat. Keeps them wanting to beat him and gives you several options on future plot lines. If the PC's can beat everyone you put against them it gets stale after awhile.

Agreed.
For one arc I was planning, the players (they'd have been mercenaries) would have dealt with a minor Davion noble who had basically turned his little land holding (a few cities surrounded by hills, mountains, and the like) into something resembling modern-day Switzerland right down to the defense forces.
Had the characters gotten out of line, he would have personally (and physically) corrected the problem on the spot. I don't quite remember how I recorded it, but I eventually said the guy had the ability to project an aura of fear whenever he so desired. And, of course, anyone who hurt his family would meet a very messy death at his hands.
Ronin should remember this guy, as he and I spent about two hours tricking out this guy's Grasshopper.
