That was the original idea. Then I thought "hey: they already have the Dragon, why would they need a Dragon Lite?"

Dragon's are hit and fade heavy mechs.. lots of long-range weapons (sort of) and high speed.
Against other heavy forces, a Kurita force tends to keep moving. (thanks to Mud for pointing this out)
As for the design Warhammer. It looks good. It also follows a tendency for the Combine to NOT have jump jets on medium mechs (check out the Wolverine 6K variant and the PXH-1K).
I'm not saying it is always true, but that it happens often.
So this design looks about right to me.. I can see it heading out with Dragons.
