Davion Forces assaulted a small military base/factory complex in DCMS space today. (Map Set 7, Mil Base #2, Mil Base #1) Led by they're commander DarkAdder they numbered 4.
Phoenix Hawk PHX-1 4/5
Valkryie VLK-QA 4/5
Locust LCT-1V 4/5
Dervish DV-6M 4/4
The loyal defenders commanded by Blackhand also numbered 4.
Panther PNT-9R 4/5
Javelin JVN-10F 4/5
Lynx LYN-6X 4/4
Crusader CRD-3K 4/5
The tonnage favoured me by 30 tons but I couldn't quite get my forces close to his in c-bills. So I was at a slight disadvantage.
The battle ended with the Dervish and Valkryie extending and escaping, and his Locust perfect salvage for my victorious forces. His PHX-1 was in a tight spot but with a little bit of luck he might have been able to get it out of the area. It was in close against both my Crusader and Panther with its heat running high.
The match ended for lunch/some time at the beach. My Lynx was in okay shape but the first point into its right arm took out the PPC. Which actually prevented me from running the heat scale which helped in the long run.
Anyone else fought a match like this recently? What do people think of the forces used?

You used the Battletechnology Lynx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You know, when I got that issue (#9), I got a plastic Wolverine and plastic Shadowhawk and plastic Griffin and made my own Lynx on the spot! Such a great design!
On the merit of that alone, you deserved to win!! However, a bit of tough luck with the PPC - it was still very strong at close ranges, right?

My only complaint against the battle technology Lynx is that it doesn't have Jump Jets, and its a bracket range mech. Okay, so the bracket thing I actually love, and against DarkAdder's force. He had to close with me to hit me so it worked like a charm.
My worst machine in that match was my Panther (couldn't hit the ground with his PPC shots). His was probably the Locust going down as salvage in the 2 or 3rd round to being cored and both arms blown off. Two new machine guns and some armour/internal structure and its a fucntional Battle mech again.

Actuall, which Lynx did you use?
The 5X is the standard one - great design, no jump jets, definitely range brackets.
The 6X gets rid of the missiles for a LL. Great for medium range, flowing range brackets, not as strong at close range.
The 7X gets rid of just the LRM5, but mounts JJ. So really, there is something for every need!

Umm, well in the listed forces it lists variants, so I'd say its the 6X.

Oops, my bad.....
But yeah, there are Lynx variants that leave very little to be desired.
Do you own that magazine, or did you get the infos through HMP?

This should be the fluff. Although this site occasionally has fluff which doesn't match what you find in the TROs.
