This is more of a "proof of concept" ship than anything else. It's intended to show just how inefficient capital-scale missile systems are.

I don't get it. How is it proving the inefficiency of missiles?
Try Krakens. They're the only missiles I use, besides the occasional AR10.
It is rather poorly armored, though. But since this is a prove-a-point, I suppose that that doesn't matter much.

With the capital-scale missiles, the absolute maximum damage it can inflict, at short range and in the broadside arc, is ~200 points of capital damage. if I were to replace the capital missiles with an equal tonnage of LRMs, the close-range broadside damage potential skyrockets to over 700 points. That's more than 3x what's possible from the capital-scale systems.

Proof of point: not only did I gain 500 points of damage at close range, I gained additional fuel, and a compliment of 6 fighters.

But capital missiles are all extreme capital range, while LRMs are not. You may have gained a lot of damage up close, but you'll be badly out gunned at range.
Remember that extreme range for capital weapons is about three times extreme range for standard weapons.

rumor has it that warship missile cause possible crits when they hit. i have never gotten confirmation thou.

Hmm. That could actually make them worthwhile. Being able to disable an enemy ship without completely blowing the crap out of it sounds like a good idea...
