| OK the IS have been at war with the clans since 3050. and its the year 3067. they had what 17 years at least to figure out how to make lighter more effective tech. not only that they have clan wolf and nova cat that has moved in to help them. so why dose their tech still have week damage more weight and take more crits. hell it took the US alot less time to get German tech figured out.

Because we're too busy researching new technology to sink C-Bills into refining the technology we already have

| Well said, but if was in charge, we would have reverse engineered everyting the clans have and made our own copies.I admit it, im a purest.

well, according to the AFFC, a single clan spec ER Large laser will cost them a Battlemech lance.

Actually that was NAIS, but they could do it and since NAIS is a university/science research facility they could STILL refine the process and make it affordable. But they never did that. They developed the RAC.

It is one thing to know it, another to replicate..... a verison worth a flip. My competitors do it with our lasers, but it is only 75% as good, max. They have been at it for 4 years. So that alone takes time to reverse it in a lab, then you have to make the tools and materials to make the product. That is another problem we have, super cool stuff ready to go, and Dow and DuPont do not have the chemicals to do the job. O and that one 12 years and counting, still waiting on those guys.
Also maybe they are lazy. If I was in the IS, screw the war gear, give me a new water purifier, or faster space travel, or a new tri vid video system. Even at war, your civilians have demands.
AWAD- I wonder if the US today could handle 4 years of total war like WWII?
