==Overview:==
     The Aegis Defense Satellite designed by BBP Industries is part of G.O.D.
or Global Orbital Defense-grid which many of the Great Houses have begun
constructing around key strategic planets and serve as a last line of defense
against an invasion force. The fully automated station is controlled via
various communication waves which makes it extremely difficult for there link
with HQ to be jammed and should this link be severed the satellite is capable
of targeting and firing upon ships without friendly IFF signatures, which can
result in the destruction of friendly ships with damaged communication
equipment. 
     There primary and only weapon is a single missile launch tube equipped
with Kraken-T Anti-Ship missiles that is guided by the on-board automation
equipment with an average performance of a well trained gunnery crew. This
high-yield missile is capable of crippling many ships with a single hit and do
to its Tele-Operated nature is capable of targeting units outside of
traditional weapon arcs. To protect the satellite in the case of an attack, an
ample amount of armor platting has been used that should easily deflect all
but the heaviest weapons fire long enough for the satellite to do its job. 
     The only true back draw to the system is that a maintence crew must
regularly board the vessel and perform basic maintence duties. In addition, a
small craft or nearby dropship must refill the nine ton fuel tank every twenty
four days to insure that the satellite maintains a stable orbit. 


==Deployment==
     The Aegis Defense Satellite is constructed on site using prefabricated
sections transported via Dropship to the construction sight were they are then
assembled into a finished product. A single Aegis takes about a week to
assemble and align.
     As of this report, only the Draconis Combine was deploying these
satellites, but rumors have been filtering in indicating that the other Great
Houses in addition to Comstar, Wolf's Dragoons, and Clan Wolf-in-Exile have
begun assembling there own versions along similar specifications.
