Here is the next set of 'mechs.
Chihawk, once again, I'm only putting up the ones that have 5 or more choices, I hope you don't consider that spamming.... _________________ "Rear armour is defeatist!" - unknown Kuritan Mechwarrior

I voted the Wolverine. We had this debate recently, so I won't go into it, but to sum up: I think it is the most versatile. Best punch at close ranges, best armour (-allocation), equal best mobility, best heat-dissipation (doesn't overheat as 3 other designs, and isn't over-sinked like the Hawk).
Is the 2nd best looking, too (after the Shadowhawk). _________________ "Rear armour is defeatist!" - unknown Kuritan Mechwarrior

Griffin. I've done unholy amounts of damage with these. It constantly surprises me with how long it lasts, and how much pain it can inflict.
Also like the Wolverine, but I really prefer the Marik variant. Only voting based on the standard config written up in 3025.

The problem with this category is that I have three loves in it...the Wolverine, the Griffin, and the Dervish...of them all, however, I think the Wolverine is the best rounded...I love the Dervish for its barrage potential and its ability to work with a group....the Griffin has great mobility while packing that PPC, but that Wolverine has the heat dissipation the others lack, and a great weapons loadout...and if you go by the fluff, its comm system is second to none...

Wolverines are always nasty customers, even in this august company. I'd pick the Wolverine first, then pair it with a Griffin. That's an unholy mix of ranges in a pair of mechs.

Well I had to vote shadowhawk. It has been my favorite in terms of looks since I started playing (tied with the Stinger, Battlemaster, P-hawk, Clint and Awesome). It also gets better with a few weapon swaps.
But since I am viewing this poll on asthetics then I have to vote with my heart.
So shadowhawk all the way!

I'm a recent convert to the Dervish; the paired LRM launchers give it a very nice long-range punch, and it's backup weapons are not bad either. The only drawback is the light armor, but if you keep the enemy at arm's length and wear him down with your LRMs you can compensate for that.
You can also scrap a ton of the SRM ammo for a ton of armor.

Dervish. The light armor does hurt, but the weapons help make up for it. Only the Scorpian has a better weapons load, but its armor is even lighter.

I love quads. So I voted Scorpion. Similar to the Griffin in weapons load but with no minimums to worry about. Is faster but doesn't jump, though it has movement characteristics all it's own.
On a side note: the fluff says that while it's a rough ride it can still travel at running speeds after losing two legs. I know the rules state that such is not allowed but I have always allowed fluff based rule changes in my campaigns. I feel it brings out the individuality of the mechs used and all my players I have ever played with have agrreed to do the same. _________________ If ignorance is bliss, then why are you so miserable?

And Autocannons, in my case, just seem to have a nice image in my head of an autocannon ripping through a mech.

I like the griffin just because it served me very well until the head got blown off. luckily my character made his piloting skill check. BUt he did mange to get a brtand new one but that's another story. _________________ A wise man speaks because he has something to say. A fool speaks because he must say something.
