lately I have been touting the benefits of Bio-Dieseland aftermaking a couple of posts on other threads that it would be better to start a new thread rather than Hi-jacking other threads . Bio-Diesel has a number of advantages over other alternative fuels for one thing it has been already been certified for use as a motor fuel (so far the only alternative fuel that has.) It can be used in any diesel engine with out preperation just put it in your fuel tank and go.in the event of a spill it is less toxic than salt and bio-degrades at about the same rate as sugar. It has a much lower amount of all forms of air pollutants than petrolium based diesel except Nox which is slightly higher ...but the lack of sulfer means that it is able to use devices that reduce Nox emmisions that can not be use with fuels that contain sulfer. It is made fron Vegetable oil or animal fats using Alcohol and a catalyst the process causes very little polution .the biggest problem with the emmisions is they smell like a McDonaslds and have induced hunger in people who are exposed to the exhaust.
you can find out more at these sites.

I'm going to hurt you for bringing that monstrosity up. That engine single-handedly set diesel back in the US back twenty years in passenger vehicles.

Upgrade to a mid-80's diesel Mercedes. They had a mid size sedan that came in diesel. Or, better yet, upgrade to a new Jeep liberty with a 4 banger diesel.

If you want a good diesel you can't go wrong with PSA products. That's PSA Peugeot Citröen for you non-Europeans. But fear not for national pride! Their present line of diesel engines have been developed in parnership with Ford. Well, except for the 2.2 HDi.

And they've got something as odd as a diesel V6...

What's so odd about that? Audi's had a few diesel V6 options, and they're offering a V8 now. There's also the V10 that's being offered in the Toureg.

EMD has had a V-24 diesel engine for 30 years.

It's odd in an ordinary car. And probably the first of those that's to be sold here. Manufacturers don't make all models available everywhere, unless they think demand covers the expenses.
