Actually, duct tape armor sounds like a great idea. You could have it take up eight crits, and provide double the armor per ton over standard armor.
Clan DT armor should be 16 crits, and give 1.5 times armor per ton over standard. Since the Clans can't handle advanced tech like this.

New from Redneck Armory Inc. Duct Tape! 5 points per roll, 5 rolls per ton!

Clanners would probably declare duct tape an abomination and refuse to use it. It's not really honorable to show up in a mech that hasn't been properly repaired.

Most likely the Tech would use duct tape to fix the mech, and hope the pilot didnt notice. Its possible, because clan warriors rarely watch the techs to their job.

I don't know. If you convinced a clanner that it was new-and-improved they'd probably kill each other over it. _________________ "Politics is the Art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, misdiagnosing the problem, and applying the wrong solution."

You don't have to convince them of that. They'll kill each other over anything, whether it matters or not.

That gives me a devious idea... Let's send commando teams to use duct tape on clanner mechs. The warriors are going to kill a pile of each other while sorting it out.
I wonder who handles criminal investigations in Clan society, and how?

I think it's something like the old medieval trials. They throw you into the river, and if you drown, the river accepted and you're innocent. If you don't drown, then the river rejected you, meaning you're guilty, so they execute you.
I can see the Clanners having some Trial or another with similar results.

That's for warriors. I'm not certain how they handle trials for lower caste members; one thing is certain though. Any hint of rebellion against the warriors earns certain death. _________________ "The enemy's gate is down."
