That's kind of scary.
I'm good for the com-gear hook up. I wasn't ever planning to be more than a good shout away, but just in case... _________________ "Politics is the Art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, misdiagnosing the problem, and applying the wrong solution."

I have considered dropping the LMG for an 2cm trigger fired low/high angle firing light mortar, but i thought i should get everyone's opinion. The mortar launches a 2 pound round and weighs 12 pounds loaded. _________________ \"I will not have my ship shot out from under me FIRE!!!\"

Gotta agree with that. A mortar in a cave? Mortar+Cave = Instant friendly fire. I'm not even packing hand grenades - just a pistol, and the SMG kindly provided by Vagabond.

Well, if you read earlier, it has a low angle direct fire mode.

It's no the angle that worries us. You swing that stove-pipe around and throw a round down the tube and your going to have a really big explosion in the wall right in front of you.
Not to mention setting that thing up will take longer than the MG.
Why not bring a Carl Gustav (or the 31st century equivalent), at least the backblast will kill us all quickly.
Anyone here planning to stand anywhere near munch when he shoots his guns?
60 Credits says if he brings the mortar he not only dies before he gets his second shot off, but he blows himself up, and anyone near him.
Believe me, I'll be happy to pay up.
On the topic of grenades, properly used, the tunnel would be a perfect place to use them. That is to say, chuck a few grenades around the corners before we move out, or down the side halls to clear them out. Perhaps everyone should carry a room-clearing grenade? _________________ "Politics is the Art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, misdiagnosing the problem, and applying the wrong solution."

I'm not carrying grenades primarily because I don't have any. If anyone's got a few spares, or if Vagabond's buying again, I can probably find a place for them.

Or at the very least, when the rocket ignites, it'll suck all the air out the lungs of everyone around it, killing them painfully.
I've fired them in the open before (a brain-sucking expereince to say the least), and would hate to see what would happen in a small, confined space.... I'll go get one!
