SMF-F1 Stormfire

Jump Capacity: none
Armor: Kressly Stoneskin 30M
Armament:

1 Voelkers 200 Machine Gun
2 LongFire LRM 5s
2 Intek Medium Lasers
Manufacturer: Kressly Warworks
Primary Factory: Epsilon Eridani
Communications System: Angst Clear Channel 3
Targeting and Tracking System: RCA Instatrac Mark XII
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Overview:
A relatively low tech assault class Battlemech, the Stormfire is destined to see action inside of the Chaos march and the Periphery. Indeed its creators Kressly Warworks are quick to ride on the Chaos March need for cheap but effective machines. After their astonishing success with the Lineholder which uses almost 3025 era level technologies, the new company push foward with an assault design in a bold gamble.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Capabilities:
Massing at 95 tons, the Stormfire is a definitive assault mech. Despite the low top speed, 18 tons of Kressly Stoneskin 30m gives the Stormfire excellent protection and the Standard engine makes the mech far more reliable. In the Chaos March, its nearly impenetrable to everything the enemy can throw at it.

Stormfire boasts 2 Donal PPCs as its main weapons. Although lacking the impressive range of the newer ERPPCs, any mech with 2 or more PPCs easily reigns king on the fields of the Chaos March and Periphery. A pair of LongFire V missile racks enables the Stormfire to lay down withering firepower on more distant enemies as the massive mech lumbers foward to engage the dual PPCs. Enemies that successfully close the distance onto the Stormfire will pay dearly. Twin Holly SRM6s will devastate any close in foe and the 2 Intek mediums can add on to the powerful shortrange barrage. A single Voelkers 200 machinegun wraps up the weapon array, serving as an anti-infantry deterrant.

With such a massive array of firepower, heat is a fairly major issue. The Stormfire will have little problems if the weapons are fired at their intended range but an alpha strike will tax the 25 heatsinks.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Deployment:
Like the Lineholder, the Stormfire is being aggressively marketed to the Chaos March but targeted to the minor nobles in the InnerSphere as well. Orders are modest when compared to the daily orders of Lineholder but its to be expected since its an assault class mech, although the price of a single Stormfire is still cheaper than 2 Lineholders.

Reports are sketchy but it appears that Stormfires and their pilots are popular among the Chaos March minor rulers as their personal bodyguards. Apparently its viewed as a high prestige vehicle and are only to be used by the best the Chaos March has to offer. However there are also reports of use in regular units although always as part of a command lance.

Mercenary units have express interest in the design but so far Kressly Warworks have being slow to respone. However, it expected the new fledging company will press forward in order to meet the demands needed.

If you buy lineholders and you want something bigger, you'll get these.

Simple and brutual. Just the way i like them. (no i'm not subtle at all..).

Put it up on the custom TRO bladewind

yeap done.

This is the type of mech i would personally ride into battle if im doubtful of enemy strength. Good for everything.

The lvl2 design is far more brutal.

Nice. I still prefer to throw in level 2 things like CASE, but this will do pretty will against most opponents, regardless of their tech.

Of course level 1 tech is still fun!

Packs a ton of punch for a cheap-ish price for a mech of its size. I’m not to big a fan of using LRM 5s though. Its probably pretty indimidating, good for a chaos march lord, but hopefully it won’t have to face a faster, newer tech WoB machine because it won’t be able to get away. And you have to be quick on the ejection button with all that ammo and no case.

yeah that is why i tried to keep reloads low. 12 for LRMs and 15 for SRMs (not exactly low).

the half ton mg ammo might be alittle too much for the mg though.
