Bit of both really.

I play using the models but love showing them off when not in use. Just got back in to BT after a very long layoff and hoping to get hold of a large collection of Miniatures as quickly as possible. Would hope within about 2 years to have a few lances and stars of most of the major Clans and inner sphere house. Hopefully about 200 mechs eventually.

Time to weigh in: Both.

Although lately more of an admirer of my stuff, as I rarely get to play. Since the beginning it was the minis that really got me hooked. (thanks Hardware, I could've bought a yacht by now!)

I've pretty much got all the sourcebooks (no Star League or Battledroids), all the novels, and 90% of the mech minis (about 500 or so plus infantry and about50 vehicles, lots of BA)

I've also made a ton of 3-d terrain.

Hopefully when my two boys turn 4 and 5, we'll start getting some use out of the stuff again!

A player... but I do like getting as many source books as possible, just to own a piece of battletech history if they are old. But I wouldn't pay a lot of money just to get a rare book....

Player.

Mostly Because I'm a relative newbie to the game, and its extrordanarily difficult to get any battletech materials in Ireland.

I'm a bit of both really. I hardly ever get a chance to play anymore. I have all of the original house books except the Star League book, haven't even see nthe damn thing. I have most of the other source books as well, but as I'm not playing anymore, I hardly buy them, though there are a few that have either just cmoe out or will be coming out shortly that I want to get (Ruger send me an email when you get a chance about this). I have a bunch of minis, but by far form anything that could resemble a complete collection or even a real unit. I have an odd assortment of mechs and many duplivates of a bunch of the unseens.

Unfortunately I'm now moving overseas to Japan, and I put most of my gamingstuff into storage while I'm over there. Sorry Sir Henry that we never got together while I was donw there in Chesapeake.
