A solid Daishi, this 'mech should be able to slaughter pretty much anything....which, of course, is also it's downfall. Who wants a 'mech that will win every time. This one is Masakari C material.

I don't get it. You give a good 'Mech low marks for being too good? Why? And then why don't bad 'Mechs get good marks for being bad? (like the Nexus)

Or perhaps he just thinks one more ultimate killer Daishi variant doesn't add much to the game?

I can see that. At the same time, I don't see how a killer variant is bad. Every once in a while I'll throw a "killer config" into MegaMek (I don't often have time for the real thing) and play it for the specific purpose of seeing how many 'Mechs it can kill before it goes down. I don't see that as detracting from the the game. I can see that not every game situation is fun with a killer 'Mech. At the same time, I do think that a killer 'Mech can be fun if you put it in the right place. I don't see a too-good 'Mech as being always bad, and I don't agree that it should be rated badly because it doesn't work in every type of game.
I suppose it's just a difference of opinion. But whenever I encounter different opinions on the same thing, I usually try to see why someone has an opinion different from mine, so I can see if there's more than one way to look at it. It's the same with my other review thread, about the Thug THG-12E. Someone (Wanallo, I think) said that it was dependent on the C3i, and I wanted to know how the C3i made it dependent. I didn't actually learn anything from that thread, though. Seeing the reaction to this one, I suppose I'll stop bothering.

I never said it wasn't a valid review. I just wanted to know more about the reasoning behind it. I don't really see how any review is invalid really, unless it talks about the Wraith's ammunition dependence or something like that. (the Wraith has no ammo)

The Daishi is a killer mech. What good is one more config of it? Good fluff adds to it, but it's still a Daishi config. Clanner mechwarriors don't often get to reconfig mechs for themself, unless theyr'e the best of the best. Who came up with it and why?

Hmm... I guess I think that making a powerful 100 clan assault isn't difficult, a person saying that the mech is too powerful makes sense in a review.
I think by saying "This one is Masakari C material. " the reviwer is saying the mech is too powerful to be in a "normal" balanced battletech game. Like the Warhawk C or Turkina B aren't seen that often.
