I designed a 25 ton light mech sometime ago called the Stirge. I have come up with some text for it with some help from Eronon. out of all the mechs I've submitted to the tro this one is my favorite.
OVERVIEW:
The Stirge is the fastest mech with a top speed of 200 kph makeing it a very hard target to hit. House Kurita is the only one to use the Stirge. the targeting computer was captured by the DEST from the Fed Com. civil war left behind several peices of new technology including the Inner Sphere version of the Targeting Computer. When forces from the draconis march invaded the Draconis Combine. House Kuritas techs and scientests concluded that they could not easliy replicate it. But found they could adapt the systems for use. This discovery was mated to the Stirge, a light mech with a top speed of 200 kph being tested in the combine. The resulting Mech so Impressed DEST that it claimed the four prototypes for itself. Thus the Stirge was the test bed for the targeting computer.
CAPABILITIES:
For defence the Stirge has 4 er medium lasers with a targeting computer fro greater accuracy making it an extremly effiecent mech killer. The Stirge has a top speed of 200 kph
allowing it to get into and out of trouble and if absolutly nessascary it also can use the masc system. The Stirge has an endo steel chassis and ferro fibrous armour, and an XL engine allowing it to mount more weapons and equipment. It also has the abilty to fire all four ermls without over heating.
DEPLOYMENT:
The Stirge is only used by House Kurita's special forces unit the DEST. The Stirge is used for taking out high profile targets and raiding missions with pinpiont accuracy.
This is a very rare mech with only 4 mechs known to exist.
This was a very limited production run of only 4 mechs at an approximate cost of 4.6 million c-bills each.

It's already in the Custom TRO, 25 tons.

Not bad at all. I do have a few quibbles of course. Mainly that I'm Davion, and I bristle at the suggestion that the Combine could reverse engineer a tar comp. Especially since it took us ten years to do it. But other than that, pretty good. Keep up the good work, we look forward to seeing more fluff with your future designs.
Edit:
You're welcome.

Don't forget that the DCMS has being fighting the clans for as long as the federated commonwealth.
Sure we don't have the massive resources the NAIS has, but i'm sure we have salvaged Clan targeting computers to play with and enough good techs and scientists to at least fit an existing fedsuns targeting computer on a mech if not reverse engineer the whole thing and start building new ones...
Don't forget the wobbies stole the plans

Thanks!! This is best mech I've designed. So I gonna have to design something that as good or better than this one. _________________ A wise man speaks because he has something to say. A fool speaks because he must say something.

Not always..
sometimes flawed mechs are more interesting.
It's the fluff that goes with it that really gets me interested.

And that's exactly what the fluff states, isn't it? Using captured or stolen TCs.

That's exactly right..
I mean come on.. the Inner Sphere can salvage Clan weapons for use even if they can't replicate it.
