The ability to wonder away from the main force and kick ten barrels of crap out of some poor git and still survive intact is what made me respect the original mech. Although the heat is good.

Just wondering, what keeps this Thug from going off on its own? I've read a number of reviews about dependancy on the C3/C3i, but I don't quite see how it makes a 'Mech 'dependent.' Can anyone explain this?

Not quite sure why... its weapons are if anything better than the original model and it adds the C3i to the mix.

The only weak point compared to the old model is the lack of reloads on the SRMs. Here however, it still has its ER PPCs to hit people with at close range.

so no idea whatsoever...

Having C3 on mechs would make me feel like I'm wasting something if I'm not using it, perhaps that's the point of it?

Yeah, but it doesn't make it entirely useless.. think of it as a bonus if you get together in a Level II

I think the 12E can stand on its own quite well. Its not the most powerful mech, but its simple and quite brutal.. just like its ancestor..
