Just an idea i had for the ever elusive homing missile.

Roll a to-hit for the weapon as per normal but exclude range modifiers.

If you hit you achieve a lock.
If you miss then nothing occures.

When a pilot has a lock he may immediatly fire the missile and roll a second to-hit at -3 to-hit.

A successfull hit means the missile hit.
A miss means the missile has missed and self destructs.

what do you think?
should i up to-hit bonus from -3 to -4 or drop it from -3 to -2?

Cool Concept.

My rules for players that want "Homing Missiles" are simple, Streak SRM's, with Ammo thats Four Times the Cost, all the missiles hit, no roll on the Missile# table, the pilot has to make two Gunnery rolls, one for the Streak Box, and one for the Homing missile Group. The Homing Group is basicly a "follow the leader" system for the missiles, Anti-Missile systems usualy chew them apart because they do follow the same flight paths.
