What 'mech in 3025 do you think gives you the best chance to walk off a company sized battlefield with both 'mech and pilot basically intact?

The mechs that actually brawl aren't going to come back in mint condition. You should have asked which mech is going to take down the most enemies before being destroyed.

That said, the old Marauder MAD-3R is a surprisingly deadly opponent for anyone. An enemy group with a Cyclops and two Enforcers once waylaid my lone MAD and it's veteran pilot among some hills. Fighting to the bitter end was the only option, as there were friendlies coming up befind me. The MAD went down, but not before destroying the Cyclops, sucking up all the Enforcers' ammo and basically stripping them of armor. They were easy prey for the next man through, a Warhammer.

While the 'Hammer walked off the board I still think the MAD did all the work, getting the status of toughest brawler.

Awesome. Possibly the battlemaster a distant second.

People seem to be overlooking the Banshee 3S. It's got as much armor as the Awesome but a much better array of weaponry. Get in close to the wesome and it's in trouble with those PPCs. The Banshee can handle the closeness with it's medium and short range weaponry.

I'd take a Banshee over the Awesome.

Granted that the 3S version of the Banshee is a scary mech to go against, but it's 3/5 mobity would make it vulnerable to smaller and speedier "Heavy" mechs like the Warhammer or the Marauder I would think.

MArauder and Warhammer are overrated in my opinion. They have a woefully light armor tonnage for their size and damage potential. Both have thin side torso armor.

Light: Panther
Medium: Vindicator
Heavy: Grasshopper
Assault: Banshee

I have a few favorites that I would pilot instead but these are the ones most likely to survive without me as the pilot.

I'm also a big fan of the 3s Banshee. It's my character's personal 'Mech, and it's survived fights that it never should have (altough lucky dice helps...)

Assault 'mechs and heavy 'mechs do draw a lot of fire however.

The Grasshopper: it has good mobility, firepower, and armor.

I haven't figured one for the heavy class yet, but the other 'Mechs I figure have a good shot of walking off the field are...

Light: UrbanMech
Medium: Blackjack
Assault: Banshee, BNC-3E

Each of these 'Mechs carries what many claim is subpar firepower, which means they won't be targetted right away. Each of them also carries quite a bit of armor for their tonnage. Combining these factors means that these 'Mechs stand a good chance of walking off the field. Also keep in mind there is no such thing as a non-dangerous 'Mech. Those Urbies are like Panthers in their offensive capability, and they can do something Panther's can't: flip their arms.

Blackjacks feature sniper weapons, but very respectable close up firepower along with good mobility and armor.

The Banshee features sniper weapons, and extra heavy armor, for maximum survivability.

I got to agree with this... Blackjacks are way too underrated..

I thought that they aren't compatible like MP
(2/3/2-4/6/4-3/5/3)
Maybe relegated in a defensive role with BJ
in a Lg las. version
