drawing board lets me make ten ton mechs, but i cant submit them to the TRO.. Is there some rule against mechs under 20 tons that i(and whoever made drawingboard) should know about? anyway, this is the greyhound MKII
MK II Prime Greyhound
Technology Base: - Inner Sphere 'C' - Level 3
Equipment Mass
Internal Structure: 1
Engine: 170 XXL 2
Walking MP: 17
Running MP: 26
Jumping MP: 0
Heat Sinks: 11(22) - (C) Double 1
Gyro: - Extra-Light 1
Cockpit: - Small 2
Armor Factor: 0 0
Internal Armor
Structure Value
Head 3 0
Center Torso 4 0
Center Torso(rear) 0
R/L Torso 3 0
R/L Torso(rear) 0
R/L Arm 1 0
R/L Leg 2 0
Weapons and Ammo Location Critical Tonnage
(C) Small Heavy Laser LT 1 0.5
(C) Small Heavy Laser LT 1 0.5
(C) Small Heavy Laser RT 1 0.5
(C) Small Heavy Laser RT 1 0.5
(C) Small Heavy Laser H 1 0.5
(C) Small Heavy Laser H 1 0.5
Its got no armour, but it moves so fast it's unlikley to be hit, and even the max armour allowed wouldnt save it from anything more than a small laser.
Its aim is to run up behind a slower moving mech and get backshots with six small heavy lasers.

O.K. as the resident expert on both ultra-light and high speed mechs your lack of armour is a HUGE mistake even at THAT speed you can still be hit.I know I have 25 ton mech that is even faster and it does get hit. even the light armour of a 10 ton mech is better than nothing. As far as the legality of ultra-light mechs 10-15 ton mechs used to be legal but they were dropped from the official rules as of the Battletech Master Rules 1998 Edition. Both TDF and HMP still can use the older rules only now they are level 3.

For this version, I would take out some of those lasers and give it at least 1 ton of armor. It gets embarassing to be killed by a stray MG bullet.

You know that if you ever run past a hidden platoon of infantry this thing is toast, right? One free pop-shot, with no movement modifiers. I've seen more than one Locust mauled by an SRM platoon.

| Sheesh if you scroll up to my first post on this thread which is also the second post in this thread you will find I have provided the history of ultra-light mechs ...including the fact that they are now level 3. perhaps the fact that I had already stated that is the reason that nobody else did.
