As in time, I guess I meant that the books needed to be written before the rules could become completely familiar to people, especially the authors. One of my biggest glaring annoyances is that in the blood of kerensky trilogy they call trinaries triples, and binaries dont exist heh.

90 posts, the classic head debate, the 2 page initial post from Vampire, I had to throw a log on the fire also.
Real quickly, I like it, makes sense and in old 3025 really works. Today, why bother. A lot of weapons do 15pts at long range.
But if you followed the old breakdown that only 5-10% of mechs were assaults the complaint they have all the advantages are moot, there were not that many to field. But in todays game, with the average game tonnage being 70, I can see the guy who plays 40 tonners bitching. But even you can carry the big gun.
The extra points help against the SRM and LRM stray rounds, but what may become the issue, is can the pilot stay concious or alive after being slapped around in the cockpit like that.
AWAD- For some reason has seen a few Crusader pilots suffer said fate, and not the Roman Candle effect

Yeah, I tried to comment last night, but couldn't stay logged on long enough to do it.
In MechWarrior (FASA, 1986) on pages 63-68 they have fluff on all the various parts of a mech. The Nuerohelmet serves as a security device too.
It only picks up brain wave patterns (thus, if it doesn't recognize the patterns, it won't start up). So, any minor corrections you think should be done, anything you think you should see, will be displayed by the mech's computer. Basically, it reads your mind to determine what information to show you. A Situational Awareness aide.
At least in 3025 there is no direct input or output from the helmets. So, no blind or deaf pilots getting their sight and hearing back: though it would be a good story...

True, but that warrior would have to get used to having electronic interference wreak havoc on their sight/hearing...
