Ok guys, the other day i pitted 8 assault mechs in a battle royal, the terrain was 4 rolling hills maps and two river maps cutting them in half, using level two rules and the following mechs,
Atlas AS7-K
Daishi Prime
Devastator DVS-3
Grand Titan T-IT-N11M
King Crab KGC-005
Marauder II MAD-4A
Scylla
Kodiak
Before i post the results i would like to see the order you guys seed them at, it was also played with hex maps (not online or 3d).

Lots of XL engines there. The first to fall will be the Grand Titan, IMO. It always fared badly against the Atlas it's supposed to be better than.

I am going to have to vote for the Atlas coming out on top. Unless of course the others gang up on it. Overall that just sounds like a very evil scenario. This one of those several Billion c-bill Solaris spectaculars? hehe

I'd say one of the Clanners would win simply because they have that much more firepower with the same armor and roughly the same vulnerabilities (they still use XL, but Clan XL's are better at taking damage). Of course, it really depends on targeting priorities. If everyone shoots at the Daishi first, it'll be the first to fall. Only IS designs without an XL would have a chance. The Marauder II has jump jets, but lacks firepower. That might mean it will receive low targeting priority and thus survive long enough to win. Or not.
Actually, a round robin style tournament of duels would probably give you a better picture of which is the best.

I am putting my money on the Devistator. Depending on his gunnery dealing 50 points at long range Yeah the XL is a liability but I still think it has the advantage.

I voted for the King Crab just cause I think most of the other pilots will ignore it at the longer ranges since it won't be a threat, and by the time they do target it, will probably be too late cause it'll be in close and open up with those dual class 20 ACs. Not to mention that both ACs are LB-X types....crit hunter big time.

My own vote goes to the Kodiak...in a 100 ton melee it's got the manuverability to get some nice back shots with its autocannon.

| Chance plays a big role in a thing like this. Like I said, dealing out damage is secondary to not getting targeted. Survival is the name of the game. Would you shoot at a Grand Titan? Probably not, you'd ignore it because it's not a real threat. So, the worst 'Mech in the bunch could easily win it.

That would be why the Atlas should be the one to win it, but most likely would not, because it would be targeted first. Not beacuse it has more armor, but because is its general invincible aura.
