which kinda begs a question, did the DCMS ever field and/or produce a Kamakazi unit during the clan invasion? i would imagine it looking something like this myself.

Gee, the Savannah Master only costs 88,367 C-Bills. Wonder if you could rig it up to have a thermal meltdown of it's reactor core upon impact? Drop the medium laser for a fusion detonator and some reactant to make the engine go BOOM! Of course you'd have to strip all the shielding off the engine to facilitate the meltdown.

I have often thought about doing that in a scenario. Desparate homeland forces charging mechs legs with vehicles. Take a handful of fast vehicles and charge from across the map and you could take out a few of the legs before they even get close. The only downside is that you lose many pilots that way. But then what use does the Combine have for pilots without honor?

remember also....
during world war II japanese pilots, who also lived and died for bushido, felt it was a great honor to sacrific there lives in the service of there country, emporer, and family. remember to a "divine wind" pilot it was honorable to drive a flying bomb. it was still a desperate act of last reserve, but it was seen as a way to die with or regain your honor in combat.
it is this sole reasoning that i choose the combine and nobody else. for them in 3050, more so in 3025, it was about honor and the way of bushido. so if you are the last defenders on a world with little hope of reinforcements, would it not be honorable to sacrific your life for your country by flying/driving a vehicle or fighter into a battlemech?
so why would this be an act performed only by the disgraced? as i see it, it would be the last act of many warriors in a position of last resorts.
as a side note the only other people i see using such weapons are Clanners, and only those that are dizegra.
ps: i did not post this question to debate or argue the goods, bads, honorable, or dishonorabvle of the kamikazi during WW2. only to ask if the DCMS ever feilded something similar. if this topic offends anyone it was not my intention, and i appologize.
