As I'm sure some of you remember some time ago I posted a custom design from one of the guys in my gaming circle. It was a true master peice of Munchkinism... well I since returning home from B.S.U. (back stabbers Univercity) I discovered the not only had he continued him path of horrible Munchiness but had managed to top his previous design... well I had to bring an end to this and designed something to "counter" it then challenged him to a one on one duel with our best pilots from out last campain... fortunatly for me he has a short memory as my best was a 0/1 pilot and his best was a 3/1. anywho, before I do that play by play I'll post the designs...

We brought in a neutral party to pick the map and he chose one with rolling hills with a couple of wooded cliffs. I took up position on one of the wooded cliffs while he, in his usualy bravado, charged straight at me. He took the first shot at his max range, missing me completly, he then stopped just outside of my range, blasting away with his ER Large Lasers and not hitting me until he had basically blow the forest out from around me (he fired THAT many shot without hitting that the GM declared that HEX effectivly deforested), so I was forced to come down from the cliff and was exchanging Large Laser fire with him hoping to get him into LRM range when he opened up with the ATM-12 using the ER ammo he had... lucky hit, left torso SRM ammo cooks off and takes my left arm with it, lucky hit right torso, LRM ammo cooks off and take my right arm with it. At this point I scream "BONZAI" charge at him and take a shot with my Center mounted LL... which happened to get a head critical on the cockpit! dropping his near pristine mech to the ground.

What lesson did he learn? never underestimate ANY mech, reguardless of the tech level.

What did I learn? never use XL engines, center mounted LL can still do a lot of damage.

What's so munchy about this mech? It seems like a fair design to me.

I was wondering that as well both designes seem valid. Munchkin to me has always been Multiple Pulse and targeting computer combos. /shrug. I think its a term that gets used way to often. If its something you dont like its munchy.

well sadly I couldn't not recall it's complete armament, however to do think it was packing 2 large pulses 2-4 more mediums and a Targ comp, however I could not figure out how he did it for the life of me.

That and using our house rules ATMs are lvl 3
