Guys,
I'm at a loss for words. I cannot express what we are feeling here.
I just want to say thank you to all for your support and prayers, the only comforting thing in this tragedy is the overwhelming show of support and sympathy from people of all the world.
We have bitterly complained during decades of the indifference and lack of understanding of the rest of the world towards our plight, but this day has shown that all good, decent people of all the world are against these heinous crimes, no matter what the media says or fails to say.
This is a sign of hope, that things are changing, after so many years of fighting terrorism alone, we know we aren't alone in this struggle.
It also shows, a shift in public opinion worldwide, where terrorists, wherever they kill, will no longer find backers and justification in other countries.
I also want to thank the United States government for their offer of assistance in tracking the perpetrators of this atrocity.
Americans,
Gracias amigos.

I wonder if we could get extradition for them to US. I know the Texans would gladly assist their meeting with whatever god the worship.
Vamp, I can't express the rage I'm feeling over this. I can't believe people would kill their own, and say it's for the greater good of the people....

Vampire,
I just wanted to let you know you and your countrymen and women are in my thoughts today. Hope you're holding up well amigo.
BTW, the CNN speculation about Islamic involvement really struck me as offensive in this time of grieving.
OK, a bit of an edit about the CNN comment; the Spanish government is itself giving mixed signals about this, so I guess I can't blame the American media for this one so much.

One of my classmates lives in Santa Eugenia, where one of the bombs went off... he takes that train everyday at that time.. he was 5 minutes late and that saved his life.

ETA Al Quida it makes no difference it was an act of extreme evil either way and the Spanish people have my prayers.Interesting note like the WTC attack in the USA this seems to have united the Spanish people and strengthened their resolve.

It's always sad when things like this happen. Nothing justifies indiscriminate murder. My prayers to their families and my hope for justice on the terrorists.

I know somebody who had a similar experience on 9/11. She worked in one of the twin towers, on one of the higher floors, but was laid-off a month before the attacks. Needless to say, she probably would have been dead if her company hadn't downsized her. I think she had a lot of problems with survivor's guilt after that one; it just goes to show how fragile this life really is.

This is the first that I have heard of this: I have been cut off from news for the past several days because I was at a conference for, of all things, Criminal Justice.
Vampire, you and your countrymen have my condolences, and will be in my prayers. I certainly hope that the bastards that did this, including those who gave the orders and/or assisted in any way, are hunted down and brought to justice.

Vlad, I know you are a vetran of your armed forces, so I know both the rage and the sorrow you are feeling right now. I juat hope that the right thing happens here and you and your country can grow from the experience and get better.
I think a change has finally happened, and countiries are going to be identified by those who do and don't tolerate this barbarity. There will be a price to pay, but life always charges a toll anyway.

Sad part is these people did half accomplish their mission, got the government to change and troops pulled out of Iraq. Problem is groups like the Poles, Ukrainians, and Brits, said bugger off. So that back fired.
Your Basque issue just made it easier for other groups to get in and make attacks. Separatists wear uniforms, something like it, at all times, hide in hills or other places and carry out guerilla campaigns. They can be laced with "civilian targets to be intimidated" but on a limited scope. Nope the ETA (that is correct?) is like the IRA, November 17th, or Black Panther, bunch of thugs that like to kill people; murderers that try and hide it in a political agenda.
Remember that these people are envious and spineless; they will attack those of lesser resolve to make themselves look better. They are hoping this will rally people to their cause as it has been waning.
America is like that 16 year old with a new shiny Suburban, a 12 pack, cool tunes, and places to go. Regrettably some of our friends get hurt in the learning process but our enemies do not realize all we want is a good time, but we piss of easy and think we are indestructible. Not a good combo in the proper diplomatic world. But against murderous thugs that do not give a crap about the proper diplomatic ways, good to be with the cowboy that grabs the bull by the horns and kicks him in the balls.
Sad to hear that so many unsuspecting Spaniards died. Honor them, do not fold like a house of cards and think they will let your country be. A bunch of people think the Iberian Peninsula should be under Moorish control. Hate and envy can have an agenda, do not forget that.
