used in combo with 3x myomer and in close terrain, a city or from a woods hex. a 50+ ton mech is going to get 10+ points of damage on the back of a mech. which means serious chances of internals. Even a light mech surprising another light mech gets some decent damage, how many light mechs have a lot of armor anywhere? a back shot on a panther or jenner with an axe is going to go internal in a big way too.
You are right about the noise tho' car crashes are not very quiet, and a need for heat means firing some sort of weapons unless the timing is perfect.

A 50 tonner is going to get 2 10pt punches with TSM active...and I see the rest of the scenario as far fetched even using double blind rules.
