Oddly enough I have been put on charges for some of those infractions, Repeatly for #48.
Go Figure.
The chain of command has sense of honor, duty and loyalty to the corp. Notice that humor is not (Repeat: NOT) listed.

174. Furby ® is not allowed into classified areas. (I swear to the gods, I did not make that up, it's actually DOD policy).
Brilliant. That is ******* brilliant.

That little stunt cost me a month's worth of detention back in high school.
But it was funny as hell though.

# 89 - we used to call our chief, mom. Or the B*tch.
#141 - works with a longsword too....
#160 - That's not what I heard.
#212 - It only took the Navy 1.5 years to fix mine....

I just remembered something I heard about them. Some of the first Furbies were set to interact with any responsive organism *on sight.* This meant that if it saw itself in a mirror, it would try to talk to itself. This resulted in the thing frying itself after going psycho because it was not programmed to handle that.

Where's your source? I haven't seen anything on Snopes about it yet. But it is a funny thought to see those things get shut up.

One doesn't need to quote "sources" to quote the obvious...Furbies can't "see", so they can't "see their reflection".
What they have is a sensor that senses movement, noise, and light (or more correctly, the lack of light), and that's what they react to. The ones first issued were a lot more sensitive than later releases so they were a lot more active than the later models.
It's the classic urban legend, a story that sounds good but under any inspection can't be true based simply on the mechanics of the toy.
