My friends convinced me to go skiing with them, so I'll be away for a week. It's only about 12 years since I last tried, so it can't be too hard, can it?

I give you 4 days, then you will be on the board from a hospital bed with a broken leg.
Watch it, stay warm..... with liberal use of alcohol and snow bunnies.
AWAD- A stewardess on the Reno NV flight says they get broken something passengers all the time from skiing accidents in Tahoe.

Skiing is not all that hard, just watch out for the ice, don;t cross your skis and just keep them pointed down and across the slope and you'll be fine.
pointers:
Fast: point skis srtaight down hill
Stop/Slow down: point skis perpendiclar to slope
Moderate: Point skis about 45 deg down and across the slope.
Man it has been to long since I went skiing myself.

Safely back, and I didn't even need first aid!
Cross-country skiing in proper tracks was what I meant. Tuesday 15 km, Wednesday 18, Thursday 11 and Friday 21. I'm not even badly hurt, only managed to get a blister on my left thumb. My legs and shoulders feel a bit like I've been doing something, but not too much. A benefit of being in generally good shape, perhaps.
A cozy cabin near Ruka in northern Finland, good food, good company and moderate amounts of alcohol. The sauna was hot every day, and after-ski with the bunnies was nice
