Alexx strolls up to the doors of the Bar and Grill, pushes them open, steps in and pauses in the doorway, framed by the light streaming in through the open doors. After a second he looks over at Lurch, nods and walks in, heading to his usual place over at the Bar, but instead of immediately sitting down, he jumps up onto the Bar Top, before Chihawk can stop him, turns to face the usual crowd, his companions for so long:
"Gentlemen, Ladies, I have an announcement to make. My orders have just come in, my unit has been ordered out for a routine deployment. This Rounds on me!!!!"
Alexxx then hops down off the bartop, pulls up his bar stool and sits down, "Sorry bout that Chihawk, placing a wad of C-Bills on the counter, PPC for me.
OOC: Well my ship is scheduled to leave for its regular 6-Month deployment in a week. If all goes well, we should return on time late summer or early fall. This will be my first deployment, so I'm both excited and nervous. But overall I guess I'm lookiing forward to it, I'm gonna miss this place while I'm gone. Though I know I haven't been around here much, but that is what happens when you are in the midst of Pre-Deployment workups, not much time ofr anything else. For thouse of you interested, I have my shipboard email listed here, so feel free to email anytime, barring operational necessities or a back log of messages I should be able to get back to you fairly quickly while deployed. Someone please keep me informed of the happenings around here. I'll write when I can, but for the most part internet connectivity is non-existant on my ship, unless you are a department head or higher, and I'm just an Ensign, who puts on LTJG in May, halfway througfh the cruise.

I'm the Repair Division Officer, we handle all the Damage Control stuff.
Raven: As for the Acronym, it does stand for that, but I was young and niave when I signed the paperwork and had the NAVY pay for college.

It'll become routine fast. Don't worry yourself. Just remember two things.
First, The NCO's are your friend, even if we sometimes make life hard for some.
Second, IAW. If your 'In Accordance With' you can't be wrong. 
These are thing I learned from my Cheng.
We'll be here when you get back. Med's are mostly boring with breaks of awesome shore leave in between. ( Read: Palma)

Well so far we only have 1 port visit scheduled shortly after we get over to the Med, and it is not Palma, or for that matter any of the "Must See Ports" that all the vets have talked about. We are not even stopping in Spain on the way over.

"We're gonna miss you man! (Chihawk, a beer on his tab please!)" Alexander pats Alexx on the shoulder. "Long deployments are tough on the body and spirit, but normally easy on the liver! Not mine, but I had easy access to liqour stores off camp..." he grins.
But, play safe, and keep your stick on the ice, (Chihawk, another beer on his tab please. What, I'm only allowed one? That sucks...)
