This is my own Annihilator Variant, used within my very own Merc. Unit (Renegade lance), it has better speed, amour and weapons than the original variants had. Never failed me yet in the field.
So your all wondering why MGs? Well had 2.5 tons left and couldnt put anything on to heat intensive, so stuck them on it and they help it out loads, great anti-infantry and adds a little close punch.

one minor change you might consider would be to drop a half ton of MG ammo for a fourth MG 25 salvos per gun is plenty and you increase the point blank fire power by 25% and reduce the amount of damage from an ammo explosion.

22 million? No problem - ever heard of battlefield salvage? Whether that would be the best use of resources is less relevant. Commanders do not always make logical decisions (especially where their personal ride might be concerned).
BTW, the amor is a bit thin form my taste. I'd drop the MG's completely and add armor. 14.5 tons is adequate for an 80 tonner, but rather low for a 100 tonner.

Reviewing its battle field preformance (and advice) I am keeping the MG's! Accept bring ammo tonnage down and adding one mre MG. I find the armour ids suitable for it, having tested it many times. However, might consider upgrading to FF at some stage.

Why would a commander want to be pinned inside a slow moving pillbox????

he wouldnt, this is a fire support mech for the main lance, i prefere speedy more agile mechs, (such as mediums and lights) or ones which are like evil boxing champion grandma's! (Slow, scary and pack one hell of a punch!)

If you just so happen to be facing one of the few units out there to actually field annhilators, sure. Otherwise, be prepared to do a lot of jury-rigging in order to keep something like this operational unless you have a House to pick up the tab for you (which mercs do not).

Ah, I see you are applying real operational realities to BattleTech. In BT logistics are simple (for reasons that are at times unfathomable given the published rules) and most spare parts can be taken from any 100 t 'Mech. I might further point out that a merc unit may well be recieving maintenance support from its employer (or not, depending on the contract). Nope, in real life that might be a hurdle, but not in the BT world.

The fluff always made it fairly clear a lot of parts were not interchangeable without lots of jury-rigging. The only same-tonnage 'mechs I can think of with lots of interchangeable parts are the Shadow Hawk, Griffin, and Wolverine trio. You could probably get a Wasp head onto a Phoenix Hawk without TOO much trouble I guess. This is one of the huge advantages of omnimechs.

I am Impressed, you managed to salvage an annihilator from the Wolves. I would free up a ton somewhere for a C3, or TAG (maybe 2 of the mg's). since the mech may end up being a target (assaults tend to scare people, so they get tend to get proirity for being shot at) and can't run away, may as well surprise 'em with some extra useful firepower. I also vote for swapping out the LRM for a PPC, that way you have some reach when those gauss run out of ammo.
Those are just my personal preferences tho' It will work well as it is.
