The only real difference between the Canadian case and the American case is that we caught ours before it was processed and sold. The biggest problem here isn't just Ottawa or Washington, but instead both governments and the general lack of testing continent wide. I'm not entirely sure of the numbers tested for the US, but, the numbers tested here were in the lower range. The difference between us and the rest of the world is in the testing. Japan tests ** 100 PERCENT ** , while the EU tests between 50-80%. North America is much lower than that.
Have we as a continent only had two cases of Mad Cow? Probably not. It's just that only two cases have been reported or, atleast found. Has BSE infected beef been sold and eaten in North America? I would place a large sum of money, (and my life) on it. Is it really anyone's fault...? Yeah, BOTH Canada and the U.S.! Will we see more cases of BSE pop up in the next few months, and years. I garantee it if we start doing more testing like we say we are.

The big difference is not testing but prevention it is Proven that the ONLY way this disease is spread is by feeding meat by products to cattle this practice has been illegal in the U.S. since the 80s that is why no cases of bovine spongiform encephalephy OR its human equivalent has shown up in the US save for people who consumed beef in Europe you can test until you are blue in the face banning the use of meat-by products in feed is the ONLY sure means of prevention no meat by products no BSE simple.Canada did it in 1997 so hopefully those were the tail end of the Canadian infection .

Fox looks at the two men debating beef. "Chill guys, it's ancient history. Perhaps a beer for you both?" Fox starts typing while Chihawk gets Mo and Alexander beers.
OCC: I'm not too worried about it myself. There's a reason I prefer to eat fish and chicken. =^-^= As for the rest, I'm sure the nation as a whole will be fine. Perhaps however, this will lead to more stringent testing in the future.

Hey, what can I say, I enjoy a good Terran Beef Steak every once in a while. They're a little harder to get now with WOB occupying our supplier though...

*Glad that debate is over*
Now that you guys are done exercising your jaws over there, I'll buy you a couple of drinks.
We need to liven it up in here, y'all won't mind if I whip out harmonica?

Fox smiles from his programming. "That works...where's Vagabond? He might show you his angleic singing."
Slythis looks over at Fox. "You mean Angel-ic, Joe?"
Fox grins wider. "I said angle-ic and I mean angle-ic."

OCC: In all truthfulness, it's someone else's joke...I think Sir Henry pointed out the mispelling and I'm just making it a running gag.

Snake Eyes, once you've heard it you see what Angleic voice sounds like.... You think that this place has Carbon composite windows for its ballistic properties only, do you???

That's why I don't sing, someone would think it was a wounded animal and try to shoot me.
Me not singing is for my safety, and yours.
*BURP* mmm, good whiskey
