Usage : The Wolf's Dragoons Mad II Earmarked as the Wolfs Head Mk II made it's first appearence during the ill fated attempted take over of the Dragoons by Elson Novacat. As Alpin Wolf's supporters moved to take the industrial complexes of Outreach they were met by a lone defender in a Marauder II. Knowing that this single mech stood between the resources that the rebels so desperately needed they attacked immediately, confident that their skill and superior mechs would easily carry the day against the Heavier but antiquated Marauder II.
That was their first and final mistake, As they Clan Light mechs approached they were almost immediately thrown back by the Mad's extended range large lasers. To the Light's shock and horror their Battle CPU's showed the Mad building up absolutely no waste heat despite the fact that it was firing several of the large lasers in a group. Under the unexpected assault a pair of rebel Ullers burst into flame as their Gauss rifles exploded when the lasers ate through their housing's and critically damaged the vital capacitors in the mighty rifle's themselves.
Mechwarrior Nolan in his Fenris advanced on his foe in a vain attempt to flank the much larger machine knowing that his armor could withstand several such shots of the lasers before it breached under the barrage, but his calm resolve was replaced by absolute terror as the Mad swiveled on his position and unleashed twin torents of man made lightning. The particle cannons burst across the Fenris's torsos licking away armor with the casual ease of a child with his popsickle. As the Fenris lurched to the ground Nolan could only watch in bemused irony as the Mad fired twin large pulse lasers that burned into his cockpit and ended his personal quest for glory.
With three of their comrades destroyed the remaining two rebel machines a Dasher and a Puma, quickly attempted to gain the weaker rear flank of the hulking war machine . The Puma frantically traded particle cannon bursts with the Mad in an attempt to gain it's partner the vital seconds needed for the Myomer Accelerator Signal Circuitry to propel the Dasher past the Mad's line of fire. Time however was not on the Puma's side as three of the large lasers and one of the pulse lasers found their way through it's torsos and into its fusion engine assembly bringing the thirty-five ton machine to a crashing halt.
In a last gasp effort to gain the supplies, the Dasher turned onto the rear of the Mad's torso and let fly with it's five extended range medium lasers. Molten armor sloughed off the rear torsos of the Mad and green coolant gushed like blood from the exposed back of the wounded machine. "Finally I have you !!!!!!" Crowed the Dasher pilot over his comlink as the Mad tried in vain to bring its arm mounted weapons to bear on its lighter foe. Then in a final gesture of supreme arrogance the dasher throttled up to the back of the Mad to finish his foe and claim his prize. Only too late however did he realize that jutting out from the Mad's hip assemblies were a pair of medium class pulse lasers. Like vengeful spirits the pulses connected with unerring accuracy on the Dasher's left leg amputating it with a rending snap as myomer muscles tore away from their housings.
With a final groan of protest the Dasher fell heavily to the earth. Seeing all of her foes incapacitated Maeve Wolf allowed herself a grim smile. The boys over at Blackwell have certainly earned their pay with this upgrade.
Without these supplies It's only a matter of time now before Alpin's rebellion collaspses in on itself, Hurry up Colonel so we can end this drama once and for all.
Capabilities:
The Marauder II, Wolf's Head Mark II is best suited for medium to extended range combat. With it's 4 ER large lasers, it can fight with extreme prejudice at long ranges. When its opponent closes the Mad MK II can alter it's weapon groupings by firing off it's twin ERPPC's and dual Large Pulse Lasers to deter it's foes. With 15.5 tons of ferro fibrous armor and 25 dhs the MK II can easily weather the fire of its foes while rarely having to worry about overheating issues unless the pilot is unwise about choosing which weapons to group with which. A pair of rear mounted medium pulse lasers round out the firepower of the MK II. As it stands now all Mad II's that come off of the Blackwell assembly lines carry this upgraded version.
I originally threw this Mad MK II at the Stormrider Cadets while they were training on Outreach. Needless to say their medium/heavy lance (All upgraded with IS refit packages) took a horrendous beating at the hands of this beast in Simulator combat. ( A dragoon officer did'nt take kindly to some of the PC's disparaging remarks about Outreach and challenged them to a friendly simulator duel) After all was said and done the PC's had a profound ammount of respect for Wolf's Dragoons and their homeworld. ( Not hard to see why after this beast took out their heavily modified lance conataining a Griffin, Shadowhawk, Wolverine, Marauder, and the trainees commander in his Warhammer).
Gentlemen, I dont like these orders any more than you do, but I must remind you that we are an Army, and the purpose of an army is to kill people and break things. If we kill enough of the enemy's people, and break enough of his things, we just might be able to convince him that we'll kill and break whatever he has left if he ever bothers us again. Bahhhh I could take it with one 20 ton Level 1 IS mech...........Dropped from orbit and loaded with ammo to go BOOM when it plowed a troth next to it.
Nice fluff there guy. Classic old Laser boat.... and as many would tell you, I hat'm. Actually if you dropped the XL and made it regular engine you would be better off (but since it is a munch clan/IS mix I did not see what kind of XL engine you had. 3/5 does not gain you much for the weakness. Drop just a tad bit of firepower and gain a longer lifespan. Then this thing would be vicious.
AWAD- and I was not talking about dropping a Locust, that would be a waste of a great mech. Stinger on the other hand......

Locusts need to be stepped on and squashed like the bugs they are.

This means war you COWARD. Take anwy mech you want and compare it to the mobility, protection and firepower. That is on BV alone, include C-Bills and off to town you go.
Looks like this Locust pilot has some deflowering of nobility to carry out.
AWAD- Real men drive Locusts

I'm just tired of seeing 100 ton Clan mechs all the time. Doesn't anyone design multirole 50 ton old tech mechs anymore? ^_^
