It's been far, far too long since I posted anything here.
Would one of you lot be so terribly kind as to either
A) show me how to do the right HTML code, or
B) explain how I can make a text file of mine show up here with formatting fully intact?
The new kids need to have some of my work. Also, if my mind keeps churning on this New Idea (tm), I'm gonna need some space to work.

Well, here are some useful bits. "<P>" and "</p>" to begin and end paragraphs. Also very useful when posting in forums (or so I find) is "</br>" which is a line break. Great for stopping run-ons from going cross screen and wrapping down. If straight text isn't working, just try adding the line breaks where needed. Good Luck Old Dog.

Try this.
Compose the text with a webpage composer, and save the result.
This will be an html file.
Go to MS-DOS, and edit the archive.
c:/ edit file.html
once opened, in the menu File choose Save As
and save as file.txt
back to windows, you can open the txt version of the html file, and copypaste it in the message

*twitch*
Okay, uhm... first, what's a webpage composer?
Second, can you still *do* DOS stuff on a modern Windows machine (I use XP, these days) ... I thought they took that out?

Any program that lets you make webpages, you use it like a word processor, inserting text and pictures and links, and the program does the coding automatically.
Often known as HTML editors, WYSWYG, What You See is What You Get. There are many programs like this that are free downloads, if your web browser doesn't come with one already.

Afraid so. Anyway, look into Start, Accessorios, and look for System Prompt.
If it doesn't work..mmm, most html editors come with an option to see the source code of the file you are working on.
Find it, open the archive and then copypaste.
