---------------------------------------------------------------------------

==Overview:==

The customized Jenner of the mechwarrior known as Nightmare. The callsign stems from his facility with hit-and-run tactics. A sudden slash at an exposed back, a run for the hills and no one knows when it begins again...

==Capabilities:==

During long engagements or on deep raids, the 25 reloads available to the SRM-4 could run out, and so Nightmare replaced it with two more medium lasers. The armor protection on the machine has been increased, even at the cost of one Jump jet. The price for converting to double heat sinks was high but well worth it. The intention is to get as much firepower as possible on extended guerilla missions. This mechwarrior won't be stranded without proper equipment anymore.

==Battle History:==

Or history in general. The mech, in it's original JR7-D configuration, fell into Nightmare's hands during a long period spent as a guerilla fighter behind Clan lines, on the planet Waldorff. As a new member in a small merc company, he was horrified at seeing what kind of incompetents were allowed to run about. Total disregard for battle plans, a chief negotiator (and second-in-command) who manages to START fights instead of getting the unit around them and several nutcases among the warriors. The company was soon destroyed, but not by the clanners. No, internal strife led to infighting between members. Some wanted to stop a frustrated warrior from taking it out on civilians and a battle started. This was the moment the second-in-command chose to make a bid for commander by murdering the company CO. The debacle ended with a village in ruins, all mechs except one destroyed and exactly two survivors. Lucky for Nightmare the other one was Solitaire, the green warrior who put down the insane second-in-command. Together they made off into the mountains and joined the local resistance. After stealing a Jenner down for repairs in a local garrison the two-mech element helped the resistance in sporadic raids on clan targets for half a year. Then they got a lift off-planet with a F-C recoinnasance unit.

nice, but is dropping a jump jet worth it in your opinion?

i'd see dropping a ML for that jump jet and armor being worth it.

other then that question, i've got no complaints. infact i kinda like it.

The machine is very fast, it has jump jets mostly for getting around hard terrain. No matter to me if it's the original five or the four it has now. I'm waiting for the Endo Steel Jenner before going ambitious

Actually, now that I think about it, the machine will change a bit when new tech becomes available. How would you like it with some more armor, the original five jump jets and four lasers - tied into a targeting computer?

get the endosteel and then up it to 7 jumpjets and a couple heatsinks if you can. And armor if there's any tonnage left over still

If you want to use a good Level 2 version of the Jenner, take a look at the RATTLESNAKE in BattleTechnology # 21 !

I would prefer a new version of the Jenner with MASC, pulse lasers and a targeting computer

Did you read Mike Miller's Jenner Omni post on rec.games.mecha? That was a mean machine if there ever was one!

Oh, and sorry about mixing up the writer. It was Chris Pearo, not Mike Miller.
