Well, those beloved fellow Red Sox fans know what I'm talking about. Looks like another miserable season is ahead of us. A few more of these and I bet Mr. Theo Epstein will be wishing he spent a few more million on a closer. You know, one that can actually get outs without giving up 5 runs to the ****ing Devil Rays. How pathetic... _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

And I think I told you what I would've done with that stinkin' wad of chewing tobacco and wad of gum both Embree and Fox were chewing on. Where the **** is my beer again?!? _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

Yea, I feel your pain brothers. Pour me a beer so I can join you in crying into it.
Look at it this way, at least we don't have to wait until August to have our hopes shattered.

Hell, i think my ragtag High School team of 11 players could pull of an equal performance. First game's tomorrow and I'm in center field, pray for me

Yeah, maybe we can be out of it by mid-June and I won't have to waste my entire summer and fall watching a team that ain't going nowhere. Hopefully in the end this will just be me whining after a bitter loss, but who knows... _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

And I always got mad at my father when I was a lot younger because it always seemed so bitter. He always got so mad when the sox lost and always talked about how they'll never win. Now I know why. It looks like I'm following in my fathers footpaths. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

I don't know...
I'm definitely planning on taking in a live Sox game this year. Mostly because the Red Sox and Fenway are an institution I like to believe in.
I think of the golden age of the Red Sox, when the lineup held the players of my boyhood, Yaz, Fisk, Rice, Lynn. When the Sox went to the World Series back to back. Ancient history I know. You start dwelling on the negative, like Buckner, and it's gonna burn you out and make you bitter.
I can see past the corporate BS, the mega salaries, the prima donna attitudes, because none of that is baseball. I can't tell you how many afternoons I spent tuned to WSBK, TV38 half reading, half watching the game. The sound of the crack of the bat and normal burble of the crowd rising to a roar signalling me to pay attention.
Every state I have ever lived in I have seen someone walking around in a Boston Red Sox hat. Usually it's all beat up and maybe a little faded, but they're wearing it with pride. Even if they're hundreds or even a thousand miles from Boston. Sure, you're a little down in August, but there's always next year. That's what it means to be a Red Sox fan. Posers need not apply.

if you guys ever get the chance, take the tour of Fenway "Pak". you get to sit in the dugouts (swill and all), walk around the warning track, toss your tennis ball and catch it off the green monster, check out the red seat in center field where "the kid" hit his famous homerun, and go up to the 406 club and the press box, very kewl! Only about $10. my wife has already done the tour 5 times!

Last time I was at Fenway I sat in that seat...and Mo Vaughn hit a homer in batting practice that went past me.
And that seat is a VERY long way from home plate...
