==Overview:==
     Though the Dervish was once one of the most common 'Mechs in the Inner
Sphere, the Succession Wars have taken their toll on the 'Mech.  With the o
Dervish factory in Davion space, the other Successor States lost more and m
of this design to attrition.  Because each had a supply of other designs in
same weight class, the House Lords were little concerned.  Even House Davio
seemed to lose interest in the design.
     The Federated Suns continued to purchase the Dervish, but at a much sl
rate than other designs, such as the Enforcer.  Achernar BattleMechs has 
temporarily shut down its Dervish line at its factory in Dorwinion on New 
Avalon while apparently studying ways to use Star League technology to spar
new interest in the Dervish.
     The plans reportedly call for taking advantage of Endo Steel internal 
structure to allow installation of two Federated SuperStreak Dual-SRM Launc
in place of the older model and Cellular Ammunition Storage Equipment to he
protect the long-range missile reloads.  An extra half-ton of armor and a 
switch to StarGuard CIV Ferro-Fibrous would enhance protection even more.

==Variants:==
     This variant is owned by Vagabond, a free lance merc. Having connectio
accross the Inner Sphere and using all of his saving Vagabond purchased a D
and began refitting it on Outreach. Parts came from across the Inner Sphere
create Kodachi the Black Rose.

     The first thing Vagabond had replaced was the Ferro-Fiberous Armor. 
Disliking its bulkiness, instead prefearing the same armor layout of the DV
Some might consider this a follie, reducing his protection because of looks
but those people have never seen Vagabond pilot his DV-6M into and out of h
battles. The reduced protection means little to this warrior.

     The next refit handled after the armor was the addition of an ECM modu
having engaged in battle after battle wear ECM could have made a difference
convinced Vagabond that its a welcome addition to his machine. This later 
proved an ecential addition.

      Leaving nothing to his dislike, Vagabond highered a master engineer a
technician named Diadoji Shin. Vagabond asked Shin to re-engineer the legs 
torso's to allow for the relocation of the jump jets. Disliking the fact th
he would loose his manuverabilty in shallow waters, Vagabond pressed for th
relocation. In the end, Shin was able to accomplish this not so small task.

     Next Vagabond had the team strip out every weapon system on the machin
and replaced them. In place of the twin LRM 10 racks the team mounted MRM 1
racks. Many raise an eye at this choice but Vagabond felt that he could bet
use the MRMs over the LRMs. Then in place of the twin Medium lasers the tea
mounted twin ER Medium lasers. Then last the team replaced the twin SRM 2 r
for twin Streak SRM 4 racks. 
     
     To this point most of the upgrades made sense and were doable. The fin
upgrade proved truely an accomplishment. Vagabond aquired a kit and schemat
layout to incorperate the newly developed Stealth Armor. Where Vagabond 
attained such a jewel is unknown and unlikly to repeated. So just when the 
thought they where finished, Vagabond had them skin the Dervish again and 
incorperate the Stealth armor.

     In the end, Kodachi the Black Rose is a machine tailored to fit her 
masters styles and whims. Dancing onto the field of battle like a ninja to 
out death and destruction only to leave her unsuspecting foes ears filled w
her maniacle laugh as she leaves into the shadows.

==Notable 'Mechs & MechWarriors:==
     Kodachi the Black Rose, a mech as unique as her master and owner, Davi
'Vagabond' Traineer. Personilized down to the audio broadcaste system that 
capable of playing over 20 sound files designed to un-nerve the enemy, and 
sometime friend. Vagabond has yet to enter battle in Kodachi, but has exten
experience in a DV-6M which he pilots as the CO of the 3rd Armored Company 
the Royal Roses Battalion, commonly known as the Black Roses.
