==Overview:==
Ashes and Dust. Designed as a heavily armored high speed brawler who's
speed and manuverability are its edge. The design originates from somewhere
the DCMS high command but we where unable to find any evidence of whom. The
truely interesting part of this mech are the hints of technology sharing
between house Kurita and Davion. Be it espionage or a technology trade the
Haijin has an edge over other DCMS mechs.
==Capabilities:==
Powered by a 350 XL, this mech can push speeds on par of a medium mech
only with much better armor. In addition to a high ground speed this mech
departs from conventional DCMS heavy mechs in the fact that it equips jump
jets. Its seems the Lexington Lifters was contracted to supplie an enlarged
version of there present jump jets. This puts the Haijin on the same level
the Summoner Omni-mech.
With 13.5 tons of Starshield A armored plating, the average surface ca
withstand one direct hit from a class 20 auto-cannon. When this is combined
with speed, it offers a very difficult target to hurt. Its these very stren
that forced the inclusion of the powerfull yet fragile Extra Light fusion c
which increases the risks of the unit being disabled when its armor is
penitrated.
To give this mech bite in order to prevent its armor from being
penitrated, designers mounted a battle proven class 10 auto-cannon design w
a estimated three ton ammo supplie. When our opperatives where able to watc
the live fire tests of the cannon, they came to the conclusion that thou
technologicly outdated the class 10 was chosen in order to use armor pierci
rounds. This provides an estimated 2 minutes and 30 seconds of fire, with t
ability to disable even assult mechs in only a few shots.
on to of that bite, are a pair of imported ER medium lasers, a ER smal
laser, and a DC built streak 4 pack. All provide significant fire power to
already fearsome maingun. It seems these mech is reaseving the royal treatm
no expenses spared. But even then we where supprised when one of our
opperatives informed use that the targeting suits where tied thru not a C3
system, but the davion designed targeting computer. Improving any pilots
ability to hit, but allowing the truely gifted and battle hardened to put t
maingun shot into specific locations on opposing mechs.
We assume that because of the value of such peices of equipment as the
Targeting Computer and weapons, that that is why the DCMS insisted that CAS
installed in the Right Torso. At first it confused use as to why they would
incorporate such technologie into a machine who's battle life would not ben
from it. The only thing we can figure out is that it was implemented to all
techs to salvage the more expensive items from the destroyed unit.
Over-all the design is an enigma and a riddle, but what is not hard to
figure out is that in the hands of good pilots this machine will cause many
burials on any opposition.
==Variants:==
One variant replaces the class 10 auto-cannon with a light guass.
Increasing range and ammo duration but decreasing overall damage. It seems
the weapon points in the right arm and the ammo feeds where all designed to
facilitate this variant. Possibly a localized application of Omni technolog
