At my store we have large scale (1/55th) models of Mechwarrior Dark Age. One of 'mechs I found was the Jupiter. Now it says its an IS mech...but it cant be built, so I made it a clan mech...and my version can tear some crap up...
Tons: 100
Move:3/5 (300XL Engine)
Internal: Endo Steel
Armor: 19 tons Std.
Heat Sinks: 15(30) DHS
Weapons:
2 LRM-15 (@2 tons per Rack)
2 ER PPCs
4 UAC-5s (@ 1 ton per UAC)
Notes: There is still 1/2 ton left for maybe a Small Laser or something...but get this. On +4 heat the 'mech can do 50 pts of damage damage up to 21 hexes. At +8 Heat the mech can do 70 damage. And thats ALL direct damage...thats not calculating the LRMs (which I think dont need to be on this 'mech at all). Basically this mech is a psyched out Mauler...and looks like it would work a LOT better than the Mauler too.
What are your thoughts?

I thought Tthe Republic of the Sphere was using Clan tech and level 3 uber tech to start with?

It is a clan tech 'Mech actually...developed by Clan Jade Falcon...said so right in the gaming mag where you could order One-Eyed Jack's personal Jupiter...

No...but Clan tech is alot more prevalent in MWDA apparently...probably thanks to the Wolves, Nova Cats and especially the Diamond Sha..er, Sea Foxes...

Right...and the mech is SUPPOSE to be an IS one...guess that is a typo...

Which one? The Jupiter? No, it isn't...the TRO in the magazine clearly stated that it had been manufactured by Clan Jade Falcon (but One-Eyed stole it or somesuch)...just as the Arbalest is only made by Clan Nova Cat, and the Mad Cat III, Ryoken II and any other Clan 'Mechs are made by the various clans...it's just that Clan tech is being sold to the Inner Sphere now...or shipments are being hijacked...

Talen stated that the info he had says it was an IS mech (the Jupiter) and you are saying it's not...so which source is right?

I am gonna say his is. The Packaging of the toy says its an IS 'mech.

If the package says it's an IS mech then it's a typo or they changed the mech AFTER putting the toy out...
I think this is one for WK's FAQ or errata for their game...

The machine is a Clan Jade Falcon made BattleMech...I have yet to see a design that has been given stats that cannot be replicated in level 2 tech...the Jupiter is a Clan 'Mech...
I have no idea what Talen means when he says the packaging says it's an Inner Sphere 'Mech...my two came with nothing saying that, and the writeup in the gaming mag point blank said Clan Jade Falcon made the 'Mech...

Yeah...it was my bad. The reason I thought it was IS was cause I glanced too fast and thought the weapons had the names of companies...and I coulda sworn it said Inner Sphere on it.
I looked tonight and it doesnt say anything.
