								| Reminds me of the Wyvern with more speed and lacking Jump Jets.
Any reason why you are using a standard Large Laser and not an ER? You have the heat sinks to fire it at range and it would compliment the LRM 10 nicely.

I personally would recommend dropping the AMS and upgrading the SRM and/or adding another medium laser, especially if you upgrade to ER technology.

								| I can see the idea of going up to the ER Large, but why get rid of the AMS?

								| Lack of effectiveness. The amount of ammo needed is insane, and if your opponent isn't using missiles, it's pointless.
The AMS is one of FASA's fun ideas, but one that doesn't work too well IMO.

EDIT: In fact, use the space for more NARC pods, or even upgrade to an iNarc. I love NARC Beacons.

								| I'd say it's a nice design overall.
It's got decent speed for a heavier medium mech, a nice range of weapons, and a hefty amount of armor. It reminds me of the original Griffin/Shadow Hawk/Wolverine trio of 55 tonners - which is never a bad thing.

IMO, the addition of the NARC beacon is a nice touch. I always felt that it was underused in the official FASA designs. It gives the SC a bit more of a flavor then all the designs that use the Artemis IV FCS.

There are only two quibbles I'd point out. The first is the XL engine. I've always been personally leery of the tradeoffs between XL versus regular engines, but that's just a pet peeve. I suppose the only other thing to mention is the lack of Jump Jets. But JJ aren't required for a good mech nor is an XL engine the kiss of death.

Those quibbles aside, I think that you've got a nice solid versatile design here and the NARC gives it some personality. Good work!

 Now lets see that fluff!

								| I would agree with 17thRecon man here. If you are going to put a Narc on make sure you use it effectively so more pods or more and larger missile racks to take full advantage of what you have.

								| Okay how about a compromise, cut the ammo for the AMS down to two tons and add the extra two tons in to another of NARC ammo and LRM ammo???

								| That works. I like NARCs beacuse with one machine and enough ammo, I can spot for an entire company of Archers.
Plus, this machine is fast enough to make good use of the NARC.

I'd still recommend 2 tons of NARC instead of more LRM ammo. If they take 24 NARC guided LRM10 salvos and they are still coming...I'd run.

								| Either way, it takes luck to get through 24 shots. I don't think 36 shots are necessary.

You'll note that's a level 2 design and adding a turret makes it level 3, which most people don't use or like.

								| Also, this is a biped and that would be a radical change to a quad. All the components might not fit.
