Well, here it goes. This thing is ungodly munchkinish, but, I guess all honor goes out the window in a tourney Realistically, this mech would be completely destroyed if it fired all of it weapons in one salvo. Without further ado, here are the plans for the "Apocolypse".

How about illegal? There are only 51 available slots for equpiment...so you can't fir that many ERML on it.
Do Clans even use single heat sinks?
What is a "composite" structure?

another example of why I truly hate Tech level 3 rules.
If the thing is legal.. It still only has 10 heat sinks.. firing 52 med lasers generates 156 heat? That means it takes 15 and a half turns for the damn thing to cool down. It better kill its opponent the first volley.
It is also immobile, and anyone stupid enough to charge behind a hill to play with it deserves his fate. This mech is beatable with even a Pheonix Hawk 3025 tech.

Did you use to live in Farmington Hills and work in the MSX building? This sounds familiar of a guy I met when I first arrived in the Motor City. We never played, timing and other issues.

Yes Pin, you are correct--this and most other "munchy" mechs are easily defeatable with just a small amount of tactics.

For one IT IS legal, I'll send you the file for it. I never said it should be used. Clans never use single heat sinks, but I didn't even touch the heat sinks. The 10 sinks there are just the ones included in the engine. A composite structure...I don't even know, it's from maxtech. It takes up no criticals, but is weaker then EndoSteel or something like that. Actually, I've always lived in Sterling Heights, and I couldn't of ever met you, not being old enough to drive

If I recall correctly composite structure weighs the same as endo-steel, takes up no criticals, but damage done to it is doubled.
I'm not sure if the mech qualifies as "munchkin" because it has hardly any power behind it. Sure, 52 ER meds could do a lot of damage IF they all hit. But the chances of that are pretty small. On top of that it has no longevity, so it only has that one shot to try to win. Munchkin mechs are supposed to be hard to beat, not easy.

There are still one or two clan mechs in the books that do not have double heat sinks.
I cannot recall the names right now. but I know they are there. I will have to dig into my books to find them.

Well, I do have to agree with what most people here are saying. That 'mech would die quickly against almost all of the players I play against. For starters, as Pinhead said, if it did fire everything and did not kill you, it would tak a stupid number of turns to cool down.
I saw in the other thread that someone said you only mark 30, so no need to worry about the 260 it generates. Well, that is completely wrong. The chart for effects might only go up to 30, but heat is still marked as high as you generate it. In this case 260. So, we'll assume 10 double heat sinks. 20 is dissipated. 30 is mark to the top of the chart. That leaves 210. That's 10 1/2 turns before it cools down enough to even TRY for a restart.
Like many said, we all agree that if someone was stupid enough to walk out there and stand in a clearing for you to shoot everything, they'll probably die. But no one I know would do that. We'll run around in woods, always giving you +3 or +4 to hit. Eventually you'll overheat and die. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator
