No, not that kind you dirty minded lot.
You see, for some reason I have never actually stripped a mech, not even my own bad paint jobs. They and the second hand mechs all just became the pirate mechs instead. But lately I've decided I need to strip a some of them to repaint them in my unit colors.
Now I know PineSol and water is supposed to be good for this. But in what proportions? 1-to-1, 1-to-5? Since I've also heard of mechs getting slagged while sitting in a jar of paint stripper, I'd appreciate it if somebody could tell me the right mix for it.
Also, has anyone ever heard of a good way to strip a plastic mech? Those are most of my bad paint jobs right there.

Actually, for both metal and plastic minis, I strip-off paint with Easy-Off oven cleaner spray. Just spray it on, wait 2-3 minutes, then scrub it with an old toothbrush or something. The paint liquefies, and brushes right off! The toothbrush will also let you get down into crevasses on the mini. After this, just wash the mini in hot soapy water to wash off all the oven cleaner. One danger, though, with plastic minis, you DEFINITELY want to do this in a very timely fashion. Easy-Off will liquefy your plastic mini if you leave it sitting with the oven cleaner on it. With metal minis, there's no danger in dissolving your mini (although a very long Easy-Off step may take-off some of the finer surface details).

Oh, yeah. Another thing. If I use the Pinesol solution, will it also get rid of the glue, as in the base will come off? There are some to be stripped where I want to take the bases off and replace them with nicer ones. Some of those things are glued on real good.
Oh, thanks for telling me about the Easy-off, I hadn't heard of that. But I still want the Pinesol formula since I've already got a bottle of that and I can get a few mason jars from my Mother, she's got a bunch of them.
I would clean my oven, but except for baking some brownies once in while I hardly ever use it. My main Gourmet food is Ribeye steak with onion powder and steak seasoning, soaked in Worcestershire sauce and cooked medium rare on a George Foreman electric grill, with home fries on the side.
I have to log off now, I suddenly feel hungry.

Can't answer to the Pine Sol question, but I guess for completeness I should add that Easy-Off does not affect glue at all.

It depends on the paint and how old it is, turpentine dissolves plastic, so don't use it on plastic minis.
If you used acrylic paints, they dissolve in 96 degrees alcohol.
The best thing ever is a chemical product known as Universal Paint Solvent, ask for it in a hardware store. I don't recall if it affected plastic, so make a a test first.
