hello, this is my frist message.
there is a level 3 turnment comming next week that i will be fighting in it. here is the rules:
cost- no limit
B.V.- no limit
tonnage- all, but this is my assult intrey
sounds like fun dont it !!
here is my mech that i have been trying to perefect for a while. any comments or ideas would be helpful.

so far in play testing i have been able to wast ever mech my buddies have used. once combat is engauged none have lasted more than 4 turns (thats 40 seconds).

Why not go with ER Pulse Lasers instead of the Standard ones?

I would dump 2 of the gausses. Ammo and all. And replace them with about 6 ER medium lasers and some more heat sinks. It would rise your heat scale a little. But it would you some close range weapons. without giving up any real firepower.
I am not to crazy about XXL engins. I mean they take out one torso. and that is all she wrote.
If you really want to drive them nuts. Make a assult mech with a standard engine. With a ERPPC in the center. So even with both arms and torso gone. you are still in the the fight. To where the other guys. (Who most likey have XL and XXL.)Will be out. Giveing you the advatage of durablity. Remember. The last guy standing is the winner.
Just a thought.

I agree. There are VERY few exceptions I make when selecting 'mechs. I never take an IS mech with XL (except the Wraith, that is the only exception). If I'm playing just for fun or something, then sometimes I'll experiment and take mechs with XL just for a change.
But it's always been my experience that 'mechs that can live without their torso(s) will almost always live just as long, if not longer, then a 'mech with more firepower but dies when a torso goes away. _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

well the turnment is on turf so range is the biggest factor. that is why i went with the gauss rifels. i like the range of the light gauss but they dont have any stoping
power. this mech will be fighting other assult mechs so i need big guns.
as far as the XXL. i agree its like carring a time bomb in your chest, but if you want max weapions you must take the chance.
i do like the erpulse laser idea(thanx) but i will have to play test the new heat
efects.
i will tell you guys how i do.

why not muchaniz?
4 lpl, combined to a tc. 17 double heat sinks. ehanced imaging. compact engine. compact gyro. no arms, as per armless mechs in maxtech. turret all lpl's. add 3 coolant pods. speed 2/3.

I got on HMP last night to try and bulid it. No luck. Not enough crit spaces without the arms.
